The short answer is not really. But they get "tips" from the players. Like 4-figure tips.

I assume they travel with the team? High school by day, hanging with major leaguers by night.

Still wonder if the Twins should consider Abreu if he'd take a 3-4 year deal at 75-80 million. Dude is a perennial .275 avg, 30 homer, 100 RBI guy. 

 

Edit: would look great between Cruz and Sano for the next year or two. And when Cruz is gone, full time DH and move Sano to 1b.

I'm jumping on a plane right now and flying direct to Chicago to cheer the Sox on. It's worth the $300 ticket. Will post from the stadium. It's only a 45 minute flight from MSP.  Stand by...might make the 8th inning.

AWESOME!

 

However, the trip in from O'Hare would probably take twice as long as the flight...

Anthony Rizzo is on a 7 year 41 mil deal. I can’t imagine Abreu getting 15 mil per year when Rizzo gets 6 mil per year. Maybe 5/50.... I dunno

Did Rizzo sign a pre-arb deal? No way Abreu gets less than 15 mil a season. Making 16 mill right now; and arguably better than Rizzo.

 

Edit: Just looked at stats. Looks like very similar players. But Rizzo signed a more team friendly contract. Idk I still think it'd be wise to look at Abreu. From all accounts he wants to resign with Chicago, but maybe the Twins could lure him away.
