VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Strasburg is obviously very good but he's also given up at least 4 runs in 9 of his 29 starts. If he has a slightly off night, who knows what might happen? And then there is Perez.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Wonder if Strasburg opts out of his contract. Should the Twins be interested if he does?
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 More bad luck than good in the first. Eaton's ball was perfectly placed, more than hard hit, Soto's single just out of Polanco's reach and and 14 hopper from Zimmerman. Dozier hit the ball on the nose.Which ignores the first two baserunners, and is kind of my point, above. You put yourself at the mercy of luck. Arraez with good wheels down the first base line after Rendon bobbled it.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Rendon double clutched. That made the difference.

FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Rendon double clutched. That made the difference. Looked like he lost it in his glove. I'll take that difference
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 I'm reading ... just not typing ... muchTake care of those hands (paws) SQUIRREL!
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 That was the pitch to hammer. Nice swing, just missed it.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Hate when the home plate ump doesn't check with the first or third base ump...
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Hate when the home plate ump doesn't check with the first or third base ump...I saw that as a failed check-swing, live and also in the replay. It's not just the wrists. The bat passed beyond the front of the plate. Too much shoulder movement to save it.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Don't know how many chances they'll get.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Positive outlook: Twins made Strasburg throw a bunch of pitches.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 At least they made Strasburg throw almost 30 pitches. Could get into that porous Washington pen early tonight.

ashbury Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Marney's recap of why Perez did so well in Boston rings just a bit hollow at this point in the game.
Blake Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 I'm still confused. / no I'm not, but I'm worried you said too much and am trying to add an anti-anti-anti-jinx.I'm against anti-jinx jinxes because I'm opposed to them.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Strasburg throws 29 pitches in first inning. Like the set of steak knives in Glengarry Glen Ross, I suppose that’s a nice consolation
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Oh it was a strike. He went.Well you and I should submit our resumes to FSN, because Dick and Justin were moaning. You decent on PbP? I probably serve better in the color job.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 I'm against anti-jinx jinxes because I'm opposed to them.Unassailable logic.
Blake Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Don't know how many chances they'll get.Approximately 8 more, unless they're leading by end of the top half of the ninth.

Blake Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Marney's recap of why Perez did so well in Boston rings just a bit hollow at this point in the game. It's early yet. Might actually be positive compared to what may happen in later innings.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Better second for Martín.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 As good as Arraez is with the bat, when he plays second, I really miss Schoop's fielding. Dude is slick and pretty much makes all the plays that are hit to him.
