bighat Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Load the bases in the 3rd - pop-up to LF. 2nd and 3rd with nobody out in the 4th - disasterous hitting and baserunning and get nothing. Anyone going to step up today!?!?!
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Hold it together Mr Odorizzi
ScooterDance Provisional Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 A little light on the strikeouts.Maybe so but 137 pitches through 5 is still in play
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Sano would've probably got injured! And broken Perez’s leg.
bighat Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Cevale is really walking a tightrope. Just a little nudge and he falls off. Yeah but the Twins are all looking around waiting for someone else to nudge him.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 And broken Perez’s leg.And trigger an earthquake.
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 More unbelievably frustrating squandering going on.I've nearly reached a point where I can almost foresee our complete squandering of legitimate scoring opportunities. That state of events needs to change if we expect to win the division and do anything positive in the playoffs.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 And broken Perez’s leg.Touche!
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Man would it be nice for Jake to step into the Ace role. Looking good so far
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Maybe so but 137 pitches through 5 is still in playA little heavy on the pitch count, too.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 And trigger an earthquake. That couldn't be measured on the Richter scale!
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 I've reached the point where a Twins game seems just a little incomplete without either a squirrel cameo or a wacky Astudillo outtake.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Odo 10 K's in 14 outs. (Now 15.) Strong!
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Yes, Jake!! Just keep it up, the bats will get going!
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Load the bases in the 3rd - pop-up to LF. 2nd and 3rd with nobody out in the 4th - disasterous hitting and baserunning and get nothing. Anyone going to step up today!?!?!The way things have been going lately, I'm not betting on it. That being said, I hope I'm completely wrong on that thought.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Frustrating? Yes. But this is still a really fun team to watch.
bighat Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Of all the times to hit a cold streak offensively, hitting a low point when Cleveland comes to town with 3 weeks to go in the season is pretty terrible timing.
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 This weak ground ball and strikeout offense is getting more than a little stale. It's also not scoring many runs, either.
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Of all the times to hit a cold streak offensively, hitting a low point when Cleveland comes to town with 3 weeks to go in the season is pretty terrible timing. It would be more tolerable if it wasn't almost everyone going cold at the same time.
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 This weak ground ball and strikeout offense is getting more than a little stale. It's also not scoring many runs, either.Long fly outs fall into the same category.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 After all these years, there's still nobody in MLB who converts the routine outcome that is the humble fly out into a stinging disappointment in quite the way that Dick Bremer does.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 It would be more tolerable if it wasn't almost everyone going cold at the same time. The most likely explanation for this, by far, is not poor batting. It's good opposing pitching.
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 After all these years, there's still nobody in MLB who converts the routine outcome that is the humble fly out into a stinging disappointment in quite the way that Dick Bremer does.He was clearly anticipating a bomba, but was sorely disappointed.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 He was clearly anticipating a bomba, but was sorely disappointed. It has happened this way more times than anyone can count.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 And by the way, the blue jerseys are better than the red ones except they have the b. ugly 1960's script on the front.
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 The most likely explanation for this, by far, is not poor batting. It's good opposing pitching.Maybe partially. My take is that when opposing pitchers know a team is scuffling at the plate, they tend to get more aggressive and take more chances with their pitch selection and location than they might otherwise be or do. It's also far from the first time we experienced this situation.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 The most likely explanation for this, by far, is not poor batting. It's good opposing pitching.Well then we might be in trouble, if October arrives, because you run into a lot greater proportion of that.
bighat Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Now would be a very good time for the Indians to mimic the Twins' recent woes and ground into a double play. It should even out, right? Only fair?
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 So does anyone else think Puig is liable to come through for Cleveland?
