Load the bases in the 3rd - pop-up to LF.

2nd and 3rd with nobody out in the 4th - disasterous hitting and baserunning and get nothing.

Anyone going to step up today!?!?!

Cevale is really walking a tightrope. Just a little nudge and he falls off.

Yeah but the Twins are all looking around waiting for someone else to nudge him.

More unbelievably frustrating squandering going on.

I've nearly reached a point where I can almost foresee our complete squandering of legitimate scoring opportunities. That state of events needs to change if we expect to win the division and do anything positive in the playoffs.

I've reached the point where a Twins game seems just a little incomplete without either a squirrel cameo or a wacky Astudillo outtake.

The way things have been going lately, I'm not betting on it. That being said, I hope I'm completely wrong on that thought.

Of all the times to hit a cold streak offensively, hitting a low point when Cleveland comes to town with 3 weeks to go in the season is pretty terrible timing.

It would be more tolerable if it wasn't almost everyone going cold at the same time.

This weak ground ball and strikeout offense is getting more than a little stale. It's also not scoring many runs, either.

Long fly outs fall into the same category.

After all these years, there's still nobody in MLB who converts the routine outcome that is the humble fly out into a stinging disappointment in quite the way that Dick Bremer does.

The most likely explanation for this, by far, is not poor batting. It's good opposing pitching.

He was clearly anticipating a bomba, but was sorely disappointed.

Maybe partially. My take is that when opposing pitchers know a team is scuffling at the plate, they tend to get more aggressive and take more chances with their pitch selection and location than they might otherwise be or do.

It's also far from the first time we experienced this situation.

Well then we might be in trouble, if October arrives, because you run into a lot greater proportion of that.

Now would be a very good time for the Indians to mimic the Twins' recent woes and ground into a double play. It should even out, right? Only fair?
