Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Winner winner, cream spinach dinner! We only had one Boston Market in my area, back when it was Boston chicken. I can’t believe it’s not only still around, but has almost 500 locations. Wtf

stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 The Twins got a win at Boston where half of the game was pitched by guys who spent the majority of the season in the minors. They faced a former Cy Young winner who had held them scoreless for seven innings the only time they faced him this year. And they gained a game on Cleveland who was facing one of the weak sisters of the AL Central at Cleveland. I'll take it.

Nothing special.

Diesel Verified Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 1. Dobnak could be in the majors a long time if he gets a little better control.2. I’m going to miss Kaat (who should be in Cooperstown) and Bert Blyleven in the booth when they inevitably retire. Morneau should be the replacement, NOT Smalley.3. Everybody pitched well for the most part, Even May’s pitch was incredibly lucky to get out.4. 6.5 games up! Twins win!

Hawkeye12 Verified Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Crazy...seems they are like 40-5 against the central dregs Seems that way because of KC and Detroit, but the White Sox actually lead the season series with the Indians 8 games to 6.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 The weak AL Central opposition has an effect. Look at the full standings on the Twins' site. The record against teams >.500. The Twins and Cleveland have impressive records overall, but both are MUCH worse than New York, Houston, etc. in record against winning teams. Methinks this will haunt us in the post-season.

You play who you have scheduled. This team is good enough to hang with NY and Houston. Of that I have no doubt.

Methinks this will haunt us in the post-season.I would say they are both slightly better teams which over a full season means a couple games ahead of us in the standings. If they are both MUCH better against winning teams then they must both be MUCH worse against losing teams. Not sure what that means. Yankees have by far their best record against the teams in their own division. They have the worst record against the AL Central. San Diego and Milwaukee have better records against winning teams than they do against losing teams. We are 7-9 against division leaders. Yankees are 7-6 and the Astros are 9-8. We will be underdogs if we make the playoffs. So what. Its more fun when underdogs win.
