Yes, but the offense has still been pretty stale against a well below average pitcher.

That's baseball some days. Both teams look a little fatigued after last night. A little harder on the Twins being on the West Coast.

It's almost too bad Berrios got named to the All-Star team, he could use a few days off.  He's not been sharp lately.  The whole team could use a few days off to reset.

Yes, but the offense has still been pretty stale against a well below average pitcher.

 

If a well below average pitcher was well below average -- every single time -- His ERA would be around 15.00. 

 

If a lights out pitcher was lights out -- every single time -- His ERA would be around 0.00

 

Every once in awhile... a well below average pitcher will give up one single earned run to help keep his ERA around 5 instead.  

 

And Every once in awhile... a lights out pitcher will leave the lights on and his ERA sits around 3.00. 

 

Over on AthleticsDaily they are saying great job Tanner... Good Pitching and they are pissed because their offense hasn't taken advantage of his performance. 

 

Over on TwinsDaily... We blame the offense and are thankful that Berrios is pitching. 

 

The pitcher is trying to stop the offense on both teams and the offense is trying to kill the pitcher on both teams. 

 

It's baseball... it's been this way for at least a century.

Grossman and Herrmann have been more productive in this game/series than they ever were in a Twins uniform.

Kinda surprised Littell was the first call here. Pitching back to back days isn’t something he has experience doing.

Pitchers have been running thru the raindrops throughout the last 4 innings.  It's about time the offense rewards their hard work with some production.

And to think that Terry Ryan wanted him to play the outfield

This appears to be a team that needs a 3 day break in the worst way.

 

For the past month or so, this doesn't come remotely close to resembling the team we saw the first two months. While I expected a drop-off, I never expected it to be this dramatic.

Either the Twins are regressing to the level they were suppose to be at the start of the year or the last few weeks have been a slump. I really hope its the latter.

It's a team that's built their success on dingers and not getting the hits necessary in big spots.  All of the 'bombas' are fun when they come in wins but when you get down to the dirty portions of the season, including the playoffs, you need to win games by stringing 2-3 hits together and converting when you have RISP, unlike what they've done in this game (so far).

Oh, yeh, and... stayed with my friends about a mile from the A's park.

This team with all of its errors wont make it anywhere. The manager has no clue and I am sure after this game he will praise all his players and blame it on the sun.

 

This is prime example on why you need to practice instead of babying your players.
