Yes, KFEY93, do agree that NOAA is the best source.  Have a nephew who has been with NOAA for the past 20-25 years.

When I suggested a late start to my wife, she said the worst of it was headed our way around dinner time.  That was probably from KARE 11.

Thats awesome! What does he do over there?

Has been just about everything.  Rotates between 3 years at sea and 3 years on land.  Land duties have included running the dive school in Seattle, being the head of recruiting, and his next duty is in senior management (may be commander?) of their satellites.  At sea has worked his way up from XO to command of a research vessel...think the last one was Okeanos (sp?).  They have a bunch of scientists on board to research everything from the ocean bottom, reefs, shrimp in the gulf, etc.  Recall watching a live feed from the South Pacific where the dive vehicle spent almost the entire day researching some plant no one had ever seen before.  While diving in some of those places, has the most incredible photos of things from the sea most of us will never see.

Kepler is in CF today. Arraez is in LF...

Wade is on the bench, probably because he was likely on that 5:30 a.m. flight from Rochester to Minneapolis and won't get there much before game time.

They are playing Lehigh Valley right now (and they have a decent airport), so he probably connected on Delta through Detroit (6am) or drove to Philly and caught a direct.

Wade and Arraez have a similar offensive skill set, I'd would be nice if Wade's plate patience pays off even remotely similarly.

Speaking of Arraez, I'd like to see him continue to get some OF reps. That kind of flexibility looks like it would be helpful this year and would provide a helpful option for roster construction next year.

He looked sketchy out there last night. The sooner we have Rosario, Buxton, Kepler out there the better.

He was sketchy, so get him more reps, imo.......OTOH, I do think he has a real shot at being the 2B next year......so maybe it doesn't matter.

Additional flexibility is always a plus

By “sketchy” do you mean he caught a fly ball?

According to NOAA...the only place you all should be going for weather. The chance of rain drops to 50% by 3pm and 40% to 30% by 4:30. Last game of the season series, they should delay it until 3pm then play it by ear. Worst case have another 7pm start. Its NOT going to be raining all afternoon.

Local channel (5) claims period is probably between 2 - 6.  After 6 the stroms fire back up and we get heavy rain.

He can get OF reps in Rochester.

While making a lot of unnecessary movements and adjustments yes haha.

Thats what I am seeing on NOAA now too since they updated it. There's our window then ladies and gents.

Maybe not, but if he was the starting 2B AND the 4th or 5th OF, then you've got more options for the rest of the bench. Maybe he can't handle it, but he looks exponentially more athletic than Gonzalez or Astudillo. I don't think this team losses anything defensively if he's out there over those two regardless of experience.

Ugh, I am going to the July 6th game. Bummed I don't get to see La Tortuga in person.

I was there last night and sat a few rows behind the Twins dugout - it was mesmerizing.

Thank you, right field wall.

Here's hoping Wade takes good ABs, shows a competent glove, and doesn't mind riding the proverbial Minneapolis to Rochester train for the remainder of the year.

Cave hasn't really found his footing this year, so it would be nice to have another option for times when one of the starters and/or Marwin can't go. Or when one of the infielders is down and Marwin needs to focus on infield.

When it comes to utility guys and defense, I'm all about risk avoidance. I don't feel risk with Marwin. I don't feel risk with infield Adrianza, but outfield Adrianza can be scary. Infield Arraez has earned my confidence, break in case of emergency outfield Arraez would be OK, but it looked a little too haphazard for my liking at times. Tortuga's defensive position should be backup DH, lead PH, and "4 guys broke their legs and we need somebody."

Marwin doesn't really scare me anywhere. He doesn't necessarily impress me, either. But I was at the game where Robbie Grossman had two errors on the same play, and when a fly ball is hit toward Tortuga it makes me miss old Robbie G. If he's going to play defense, I'd prefer it be in a spot where movement is more restricted.
