LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Starting to rain again. Be a shame if the Twins don't get a chance to make up 7 runs in 6 outs.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 I'm starting to think Mejia will clear waivers. Though I'd still drop Magill first. it sounds like Falvine are pretty keen on Magill...when Moya is ready to return I’d DFA Mejia to make room. I still think he can be a quality pitcher, but man he’s been struggling in conversion to the bullpen.
wavedog Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Mejia in Spanish means “walks a lot of batters”. I must say he looks rather svelte compared to Pineda. Thanks for helping the bullpen out Mejia!
jkcarew Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 When Cole is on.... he is a Cy Young guy. In his prime and dealing. I wonder if Houston fans were calling him a nibbler in his first games this year as he dialed in his control......The clueless ones...so probably, yes But he had a 3.29 FIP and leading the league in K’s heading into this game. So, not exactly struggling. This is what a number two starter on a championship team looks like.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 I was big on Mejia being a success in the bullpen... looks like I was wrong, big time!

Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Jeepers! Can’t Mejia finish this godawful thing?
Astros Fan Provisional Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Nah everyone here knows Cole has game.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 I was big on Mejia being a success in the bullpen... looks like I was wrong, big time!you and me both!
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Mejia was good at one time wasn’t he Not is my opinion. A few good outings. Some always say they love his stuff. I don't get it. There has been a bunch of poundage on the mound today for the Twins.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Hildenberger and Harper. Gimmic pitchers.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Nah everyone here knows Cole has game.I remember Verlander had a great reaction when they traded for Cole. Oh, also, Verlander is ok too
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Get it all out of your system, fellas
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 I was big on Mejia being a success in the bullpen... looks like I was wrong, big time! One game. He’s not too bad. If stretched out he can start in a pinch.
Astros Fan Provisional Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 One of those games I guess. Y'all have a lot to look forward to this year.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 This may be bad for our run differential, but might as well get this out of the way in a game that we weren't gonna win in the first place.
wavedog Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Yes, Polanco get all your errors out - fielding & throwing
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 No relief from Harper.... 3 more Inherited runners scored. is that 8 out of 12 now for the year?
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Harper's trying to end this, but nobody wants to help him out.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 One game. He’s not too bad. If stretched out he can start in a pinch. He had a good first week of the season, but he's earned his 8.74 ERA thus far. He's consistently struggling to throw strikes. I'm not advocating for his DFA yet, and it's nice that he can go multiple innings, but he's looked brutal over several stretches thus far.

Magill might've done it a couple of times last year.
twinsbaby Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Adrianza wants to win this game. Very impressive ABs this series.
wavedog Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 They ought to pull one of the few fans left in the stands to pitch the ninth
twinsbaby Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Buxton' career is always not hit against Astros.
