sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Labor day is to celebrate unions, right? How best to do that in a game thread... 1. Sing a Folk or Protest song? What's yer fave? 2. Watch a cartoon about fat cats and quick little rodents. Got any recommendations? 3. Root for the Minnesota Twins and their devotion to team play, be it productive outs, sacrifices, 1 if by ground, 2 if by air. And of course getting each other's back. 4. Jokes. It is important to have a "yes i can, sir!" attitude. Once we even had a "do, sir!" attitude with us. Now the Dodgers do... 5. Last minute heroics. Sometimes minute is right. Oh yeah, line ups and such. My favorite bit is heavy rain and 79% chance there at the bottom... TwinsKyle Gibson ( R) 1. Joe Mauer (L) 1B2. Logan Forsythe ( R) 2B3. Jorge Polanco (S) SS4. Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Been a while...Is the theme song "bite and fight" or just "fight and fight"?I always thought it was "fight and fight".
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 When the going gets tough...There's always Giminez.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 I always thought it was "fight and fight".Hard to tell sung lyrics at the best of times... They both work, and i think it the better show for its simplicity...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 Thanks Sample Size! Tough to get excited today after yesterday's debacle.Doh! I meant to say "You're welcome!" Where are my manners at?

mrmpls Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Jiminez-Belisle-Duffy-Field-Grossman-Are not part of any next year logic, Take em all of the 40 and give some youngsters a chance, And reed would also be on my list but they gave him what 16- 17 million ? for 2 years. Frustrating season and after yesterday im trying to be Nice!!

Frustrating season and after yesterday im trying to be Nice!! What's even worse, is if they REALLY need to see what those guys have to offer, there's still flexibility - Ervin, Morrison and possibly Slegers could be moved to the 60-day to clear up more spots. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they're still listed on the 10-day.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Twins dink and dunk, load the bases, dont score. One swing, 1-0 Stros. Hitting for power matters.
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Hilarious our announcers are saying Laz Diaz is one of the best umpires in baseball. He has a rep of being horrible, especially at balls and strikes.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 It appears the Long Island Ducks' outfield is superior to today's Twins. Lew Ford is hitting .300+ and at one point this year featured Emilio Bonifacio and Travis Snider. Honestly, I think that OF would be on par with today's alignment.
wavedog Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Picking up right where we left off yesterday...
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 No way that’s a strike. Sano gets screwed on these calls more than any batter I’ve ever seen.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 Picking up right where we left off yesterday... Not that bad yet... though data collected thuss far indicates there is sloppiness to our play and that we are letting score as plentifully as... Rabbits. (Hopefully RB will cut me some slack on this being 7001, rather than 7000. But if not, it is what i get for posting on mobile devices so it is less easy to keep tabs on it, and accidentally splitting yer welcome and tough get going post in twain.)
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 4-0. Does outfield usually affect whether they ar homeruns or not?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 We shall over come (x3)Some day. Deep in my heart i still believe...
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 At least Gibson is regressing quickly enough to where the FO hopefully doesn't give him a needless extension. Although, on the other hand, he is capable of getting through at least three innings every start so he's probably worth 50 mil per season so we don't need to see our bullpen for eight innings.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Twins outhomered 13-5 so far on this trip to the great state of Texas. That's all? 13-5? Seems like TX hit more than that just off Gimenez.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Brett Boone happy that Josh Field is making Twins fan forget him.
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Twins announcers are saying that because the Twins had to play an extra game in 2008 and 2009 to determine who went to the playoffs, MLB decided to make the one game playoff between the #1 and #2 Wild Card teams that made the playoffs.
