Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Little is mostly hot garbage at AAA, not sure why he's up instead of some of the other guys mentioned. Yeah, Littell has looked really bad in his two MLB appearances, but how is a 3.00 ERA with 8.3 K/9 at AAA "hot garbage"?
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Yeah, Littell has looked really bad in his two MLB appearances, but how is a 3.00 ERA with 8.3 K/9 at AAA "hot garbage"? And none of that is in relief...........
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Trade Rodney before he screws up any trade value he may have luckily developed.

curt1965 Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Molly used all his pitchers to get to the 9th for Rodney, and that didn’t work. I’m more disappointed they didn’t have better options in the 10th. Littell was going to be used in long relief. As Tom Kelly would say, “ didn’t put him in a situation where he could succeed”Littel has been a starter all year, and he pitches the 10th as a reliever. What can you do?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Littell was called up as the long reliever... but then Molly used him in the 10th to defend a tie game, what'd you think was going to happen? We could have had Duffey or Busenitz in here... and clearly he isn't ready to use Belisle in a game like this. Just a total waste of roster spots and poor management. I think I'm going to stop criticizing this because it should be plainly obvious to anyone watching.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Anthony Recker is batting .308/ 1.005 OPS in 130 AB for Ariona's AAA team... 10 HR 34 RBI!Chris Gimenez has Bobby Wilson-like numbers in MLB and AAA for the Cubs! Then there's this guy still zipping around ATL on his motorcycle AVG OBP SLG OPS.290 .353 .487 .840
jun Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 And yet...Belisle still has a major league job....Orf-DaWell let's look at it this way. Belisle can be a mop up guy. Littel can't even get anybody out. Littel's ERA: 18.90Belisle's ERA: 6.87 Belisle has no future value.Littel might have no future in the big league.
Tovar12 Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 How many years is Rodney signed for? (hopefully just one)

curt1965 Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 it’s kinda like asking me to make a 10 footer on the 72nd hole to win the Masters,Yeah, there is a chance I’ll make it, but, .............. probably not!

I didn't see any success last time he pitched as a starter in the major league. Littel pitched two games and got two losses. He cost the Twins two losses with his awesome performance.

tvagle Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 The Twins better ignite a fire soon...Winter's Coming and they may not be competitive before the final episode of GoT
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 My guess is he was hoping Littel might pitch the 10th, 11th, and 12th

howeda7 Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 So, not that i care that much, but it looks like tomorrow's game is on facebook only?

This was a job for Busenitz or Curtiss, not Littel. How about Rodney and Astudillo? Seems like your blanket statement lets them off the hook.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 I thought I just read that he had a 4.42 on the strib today down at AAA...or I am confusing him with the other guy we got for Garcia...maybe it's that.Gonsalves is at 4.30 ERA, maybe that's what he meant? The other guy in the Garcia trade was Enns, who was recently demoted to AA. He's not (and honestly wasn't originally considered) a prospect.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 You mean BESIDES firing the manager? This one is on whoever keeps Belisle on the roster in place of any reliever with a future or keeps a .120 hitting 3rd catcher over a fresh BP arm Unfortunately, the team has lost it's fire and a change in manager may also be unavoidable
howeda7 Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 How many years is Rodney signed for? (hopefully just one)They have an option on him for next year for $6 million IIRC with like a $1 million buyout. They should trade him and be done with it.

This is a game with a lot of failing- better get used to it.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Spinning positive Trade all the expiring contract guys you can right nowBring up young BP arms maybe a starter or two if others are tradedFill in with young prospects not re-treads in the fieldandIf they catch lightning in a bottle and turn this around great if not are we really that worse off than what we're watching right now?

Littel has no value right now. He simply does not belong in the big league. Belisle is way better than Littel.
jun Verified Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 My guess is he was hoping Littel might pitch the 10th, 11th, and 12thToo bad Littel couldn't even get more than 1 out.

jokin Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Too bad Littel couldn't even get more than 1 out.How about one strike?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Littel had an ERA of 5.87 at AA.I don't know why they promoted him.He somehow managed an ERA of 3.00 at AAA.Probably because his past 14 starts at AA went to the tune of 2.42 ERA. Even in that 5 start sample at AA, he struck out 12.5 K/9, and they were holding guys at AA when they probably should have been at AAA, so the promotion likely wasn't performance based. The Twins should send Littell back to AAA and have him work on his stuff and see where he is next year. He hasn't looked remotely ready for the majors in a 4 inning sample size, but that shouldn't ruin the rest of his career. (e. g. look at what Randy Rosario is doing for the Cubs after what he did with the Twins/AA last season). Twins rookie starters almost always start off terribly within the past 5 years or so, so I wouldn't give up on Littell yet.

Belisle is way better than Littel. You’ll be happy to know that Molly said he is going back to Rochester tomorrow and they are bringing up another reliever. That is beyond disappointing! The kid has a bad outing and they’re making a scapegoat out of him? Didn’t think the Minnesota Twins organization acted like that! Not a good sign for future call-ups!
