Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Wow, I've never seen a pitch travel 47 feet before bouncing, until that one so, not Garver's fault?
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 LOL same here. Turned it on, first pitch grand slam...guh! Pressly just needs to get out of this inning with no more runs to give the Twins a chance. Here's hoping he doesn't implode or I just might...Then I blame you!
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 no issue not taking him out, but then leave him in after the GS. IMO and I'm not sure that we agree he needs humbling.....nor do I think he needs to be reminded he needs to keep working to improve. Not suggesting that he has said or done anything that would make anyone question his desire to work or get better. Just a general philosophy that a good humbling can be used as a learning experience.
bighat Verified Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Dang, I bet that run counts.Garver can't play catcher anymore, this is getting ridiculous.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Dang, I bet that run counts.yep I say overruled, safe
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 I loath Garver with the white hot heat of a thousand suns. What a terrible job of blocking the plate/tagging. Edit: we’ll take it, but he was safe, and Garver is still terrible.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 And Garver held on to the ball! EDIT: That's what ESPN sez. Review, I assume, from your banter above.
bighat Verified Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 yep I say overruled, safe Which is ridiculous, because the throw beat him by a country mile. That's on Garver.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 If replay is going to exist, is it too much to ask for them to get the call right?
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 The call stood, but I have never understood the rationale for fielders to look and reach for the runner on a slide. Put the ball down in front of the bag. Sooner or later he has to show up. He ain't gonna head back to third. Garver had lots of time to get that tag down.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Today is one of those rare days the Twins offense clicks, only to have their pitcher implode.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 OK boys, if they can hit a wind-blown HR we can hit three. Go get 'em!
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Little known fact: Randy Rosario is not Eddie’s brother.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 OK boys, if they can hit a wind-blown HR we can hit three. Go get 'em!We already got one from Mauer!! How hard can it be?
Shaitan Verified Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 WTF!? You're batting Morrison in the 6th against a LHP to lead off an inning? edit: Easy out, but I guess that means Cave will be the big late inning PH AB?
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 for those keeping track, this is appearance 41 for Pressly in team game 78. Edwin Diaz leads MLB relievers with 42 games. Of course, Seattle has already completed 82 games.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 so, not Garver's fault?not that time, not that pitch, no. Very lazy tag on the play at the plate, he just kind of held the tag down in the guys lap while the guys legs scratched over the plate ahead of the tag, but we got the call.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 We need 5 more RBIs from Mauer this game if we want a chance
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 We need 5 more RBIs from Mauer this game if we want a chance optimist.

Can’t use Austudillo since he’s the only back up infielder.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 We need 5 more RBIs from Mauer this game if we want a chance//on iPad, don’t have the skills, pretend there’s a picture of Lloyd Christmas here// So you’re sayin’ there’s a chance!
Shaitan Verified Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 The alternatives being Cave, Wilson or Austudillo. Can’t use Austudillo since he’s the only back up infielder.I agree they're bad options, but save the HR threat til the late innings, especially when you know there's a lefty on the mound now. Not to mention his lack of speed and leading off an inning not being ideal if he had reached.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 The alternatives being Cave, Wilson or Austudillo. Can’t use Austudillo since he’s the only back up infielder.I think they can risk it.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 I think they can risk it.Maybe “can’t” isn’t correct. “Won’t” would be more accurate.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 He's his dad, right?I think it’s physically impossible to be one’s own dad. Also icky.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 not really, but here ya go anyway Gracias, Senor Disco. I’m incredibly pleased to learn someone got that post.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Whew...if Rosario got picked there I might need a new TV.
