Turning on the TV to see Lynn facing Trout with the bases loaded and 2 outs... and then seeing him strike Trout out... good stuff. Definitely though Trout was going to break the game open there.

The ump is giving Richards strikes that aren't strikes, and he's not giving them to Lynn.

Has Sano always worn that jaw-protector piece? I wonder if that's behind his pitch recognition this year....

Mejia doing pretty well in Rochester this evening -- 7 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB (!!!) and 8 Ks

Nice, it's great to see he's doing well after missing a month or so with an injury. He'd definitely be worth a call-up if needed.

Absolutely should've been an error. Standing in place, ball went between his head and his glove. I feel bad for pitchers when stuff like that gets ruled a hit, but I'll take it either way.

This strike zone is hot garbage so far today too.

Garver with a baserunning gaffe. Gee whiz, guy.

He plays a very consistent game. The problem is that its consistently bad.

GLAD FOR THE RUN bUT C,MON THAT WAS A ERROR, To me anyway

Harder to tell on the radio, but that is the impression I got as well, and Gladden seemed to think he should have made the play.

Have I mentioned how much I like Escobar? This dude is a stud at the plate. He's up to .292 with some serious XBH power.

Sano in the 7 spot. Interesting.

I haven’t been playing close enough attention this last week. Is that new tonight or has it been done already?

It should certainly get his attention.

Sometimes that’s all it takes.

I remember back in 1991 TK pinch hit for Kent Hrbek early in the year vs a LHP. Once with the forgettable Carmello Castillo and then with Al Newman. It certainly got his message through. Hrbek ended with a .797 OPS vs LHP, which was pretty close to his overall OPS that year. In 1990, he had about a .150 point spread.

Edit: Geez, I just looked Castillo up. He had a -1.2 bWAR for his career. The guy was in the bigs for parts of ten seasons. That has to be almost impossible.

new - Molly covered it in pregame. Sano has been struggling and he wanted to take the pressure off Sano, and keep Escobar and Rosario at the top

Would you try to lock Escobar up now ??  free agent end of year

I would wait until the end of the season before I offer him anything. I'd like to see if Nick Gordon will be worthy of starting in 2019 and also not sign Escobar when he's hitting his hottest. But I would be ready to offer him something in the range of 3 years $30-36M

Eddie can literally hit any pitch

Good thing LaMarre and Dozier were able to move Garver over, so he scored on that hit.

Oh, wait, I was in that alternate universe again, where Spock has the goatee...
