I think Gladden just said something like this is something that is going to happen every once in awhile (or something like that).  I think his definition of "every once in awhile" is different than mine.

Hard to believe Pressly has gone from being demanded to being the closer in April to being demanded to be DFA'd now. Molly has simply overused him (he's pitched 8 times without rest since May 1st!!) and he needs to realize that Ryan is going to have streaks of effectiveness and streaks of bad baseball. As always, Molitor just keeps plugging Pressly (and others, Reed, Belisle 2017, etc.) in these situations and it's costing us games - this is why we continue to lose one run ball games.

Thought for sure Pressly would be okay starting with a clean inning.

I thought wrong.

The rules suggest that quality minor league relief pitchers who can be shuttled back and forth and kept fresh should be one of the more valuable commodities in the sport. we're one of few teams who could pull that off, but can't because a strategy featuring fresh young bull pen arms would make Molly's had explode.

MoY finally seems to get it, and drops the struggling Sano to the 7 spot.  Good, finally recognizes that a slumping dude should be in a lower-leverage spot.

So his #1 struggling reliever?  Does he get a lower-leverage situation to work out his yips?

Heck no, let's go ahead and put him in as high a leveraged spot as possible, what could possibly go wrong?

I have been done with this dude in the dugout for so, so long.  And more than ready to say 'so long.'

I never think Pressly could be a closer, he has the stuff and he just does not have the makeup and rhythm. How many times has he given up a winning hit or a walk off homer with 2 strikes? He just never gets it.

At what point does Hildenberger surpass Pressly in Molly's mind?

Hildy was warming in the 6th. Why didn't he get the call?

For God's sake, if we win, it's in spite of decisions made on the bridge.

Why does Molitor keep using Pressly in these 1 run situations after he's shown that he absolutely cannot be trusted at all currently? Good lord. Let him throw some mop up innings to try to get some confidence back or something. Or just rest him because this was his 33rd appearance already this season.

Because the Angels are a stacked right-handed lineup, Molitor couldn't use a lefty out of the pen, and Reed has been stinking it up. The 'pen is terrible, frankly, aside from Rodney. Shoulda put Duff Man in there in hindsight.

Morrison should bat lower in the order as well. I don't think MoY really gets it all.

You’d be hard pressed to find a team that takes more god-awful swings in hitters counts than the twins

You can’t bat the whole team lower. I think Dozier and LaMarre should be swapped in tonight’s order. And play Sano 7th until he shows he’s improving.

Lance Lynn battled his guts out tonight, with a crappy ump dogging him every step.

......and then.....

He needs to learn some aikido or something, so when MoY comes to pat him on the back, or shake his hand, he can twist it into staying in the game.

Well, I was trying to at least give him credit for one good move....

Good that we've gotten our recommended daily allowance of Addison Reed 8th inning home runs allowed.

I said to my boss in April when he probably still had a 0.00 ERA that he could go the entire season without giving up a run and I would not trust him. He just reminds me of Crain.
