Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Man, Rosario is so good... he can turn pitches way off the plate into HRs like that. He's playing like an All-Star right now.Clevenger had a look on his face that was funny. It was ‘What just happened? How’d that happen?’
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Did you know that for his career, Babe Ruth had an amazing OPS of 1.152 against right-handed pitching but against lefties he managed only a paltry 1.128? Pfft, and some people say he's the best baseball player ever...AND, he was a top-flight starting pitcher. No other player has ever come close to him in overall baseball performance.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Okay, that was a great catch! Of course Bux would’ve had that standing up as if just routine.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 What a catch! Thought that was a double for sure!
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Author Posted June 3, 2018 Fangraphs told me that Zimmer was one of the defensive CFs in baseball... and I definitely believe that now.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 LaMarre got robbed. Great catch, darn it! And, walked in the door just in time to watch Mr. Gibson strike someone out. And, I cannot claim I was all that surprised. What a difference a year makes.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 I am calling a Dozier HR hereYou were 1/4 correct. Or maybe 1/3 if you think in terms of RBI.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Author Posted June 3, 2018 That's 4 great PAs in a row for the Twins, and now Rosario's up. This is the offense I was expecting from the Twins this season.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Just put the bat squarely on the ball Sano!

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Looks like we're getting the good Gibson again today. I know this has been said before, but it seems like his performance is finally starting to catch up with his talent.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 I hope that the Twins stay patient at the plate and wait for pitches that they can hit hard. Clevinger looks tired to me. Let's keep piling up runs then get the their bullpen.

kydoty Verified Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Irony is some dude at the game who calls himself Tim Bob being asked to name as many tools as he can.

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 I'm Nine of twelve but Gibson is Twelve of twelve.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Author Posted June 3, 2018 How does Strat-O-Matic deal with pitch counts and bringing in relievers?I'm the manager of both teams, so I will try to keep things as realistic as possible. Unless a pitcher is struggling, I'll keep them going until somewhere in the 3rd time facing the lineup where that 100 pitch limit is hit. Of course, if you play this game with no intent for maintaining realism and just winning, you can do something like have Johan Santana pitch 9 innings very time out because he's just that good.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Any chance that Gibson gets an extension?
Jham Verified Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Who are you, and what have you done with Kyle Gibson?
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 I like this version of Kyle Gibson.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 This is really pleasant to see on Gamecast. (I'm at work, but I'm the boss, so I can sneak peaks on the interwebs.) Keep tossing BBs, Gibby.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2018 Author Posted June 3, 2018 Strat-O-Matic Report - Top of the 4th Kipnis doubles to left center.Gomes HRs, Kipnis scores (CLE 3-1).Allen strikes out.Zimmer strikes out.Gonzalez walks.Lindor pops out to SS. Cleveland leads 3-1... Gibson is doing much better in real life.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 I think the pitcher may have been able to throw LaMarre out if his 3B hadn't run into him.
