Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 GOOD pup! Investigating the scene to make sure there isn't trouble ahead!
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 This is a cunundrum. While I don't think Garver is a MLB catcher, or even close to one, I also have a hard time defending Molitor playing Wilson half the time. Darned if you do, darned if you don't. But forced to make a decision I would try and give Garver the majority of the playing time and see if he can turn into something representing a functional defensive catcher, and keep looking for a real one. Investing innings in Wilson is non productive.Agree that he probably isn't a MLB catcher. Also, we have seen the value of Wilson here early. However, Garver isn't going to get any better sitting on the bench. Gotta play him in my mind. Give Wilson two starts a week. That is it. No more, no less.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Y'know, it occurs to me that dry erase boards are a wonderful invention. Truly remarkable.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 the socks look fabulous. Also, the beard is on point!
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 That said, why in the hell would you throw that ball Bobby? Not a chance at throwing him out
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Romero seems to have a bit of trouble locating the breaking ball. Unless he's aiming for the outside back corner of the LH batter's box, in which case his command is impeccable.
Mauerpower Verified Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Poison ball! Cain’s out! At this point just put Mauer back at catcher and let him ride it out
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 That said, why in the hell would you throw that ball Bobby? Not a chance at throwing him outI think he had him if the throw is anywhere near the bag.
Platoon Verified Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 So everybody is already upset before the game starts? Upset is ok. It's being confused that is not. Wilson again? As for Buxton, there may be an unknown reason for his sitting. But if it's performance based, ugh! He is one of the Twins "sink or swim" players. Sano is another. If these two guys don't produce, the opportunity for this to be a dominant team are zilch. Calling up yet another journeyman type ain't gonna do it.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Also, the beard is on point!Loose the Mr T starter set, though.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Well now, isn't this just getting off to a mahhhhvalous start?

Calling up yet another journeyman type ain't gonna do it. Garver out hits him so it has to be a defensive decision and maybe with Romero being a little more unpredictable he went with Wilson. My personal opinion... I think we gotta say the hell with it and put Garver in the lineup for the bat. We don't have the luxury of playing defense first. Buxton... I'd also sit him for a game. Same reasoning that I would go with Garver instead of Wilson... We need more people who can put the ball in play. Buxton is 2 for 23 with 9 K's. You don't have to bench him forever but he could use a day off especially against a pitcher who leaps off the mound at you and just struck out 12 batters in 5 innings in his debut. As for Cave... He got the call... He's making his MLB Debut... I'd love to be setting in the audience with his family listening to how excited they are.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 2 rookie pitchers are, indeed, looking like rookie pitchers.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 We have to have the worst situational hitting in the league. My goodness.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Sounds like there's a mess of Brewer fans at the game.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 We have to have the worst situational hitting in the league. My goodness. He pulled off on that. Can't pull an outside pitch unless you are 6-6.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Sounds like there's a mess of Brewer fans at the game. They are generally messy.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 Did he throw a single strike to Escobar? No.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Did he throw a single strike to Escobar? Escobar has the power to convert balls to strikes.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 I completely didn't get the Mauer/Berrios/TCBear poker game commercial. What was I supposed to take away from that?
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Yikes!! How's this for an upset? Canada lost to Switzerland in the World Hockey Championship semi-finals 3:2, and Switzerland will play Sweden for the Gold. So now it will be Canada vs USA for the bronze.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 I completely didn't get the Mauer/Berrios/TCBear poker game commercial. What was I supposed to take away from that? That one has me stumped as well. Bears don't have Thumbs. They can't hold Cards.
