Platoon Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Dick called a fly ball to medium center field hit by an Astro a popup. But Dozier's shorter fly ball was deep. Homer much? And may I add that I think the term popup should be reserved for a fairly high fly ball that can easily be caught by an infielder. That could have been another unwritten rule, but it's too late for that now. . Which made me think, unless you are talking directly to someone, how can an unwritten rule be discussed, and remain unwritten? ?
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 OK boys, let's get some more hits strung together.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 That opening day start for Jake seems like a long time agoTop of the first today seems like a long time ago.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Man, a hit on a ground ball to second. Love the wheels!

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 triple time...Could Garver stay ahead of Buck?
jimmer Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Could Garver stay ahead of Buck?no
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 That much speed by the batter brings baseball back to a much purer state, where simply putting the ball in play makes it a challenge for everyone.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 It's one thing to beat out a ground ball that a second baseman would normally turn into an out. It's entirely another to beat it so badly that there's no need to bother with a throw.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Green light for Dozier here

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Could Garver stay ahead of Buck? The question is, where on the basepath would Bux pass him up.
DrNeau Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 1 out... so Mauer is thinking bunt, then?
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 1 out... so Mauer is thinking bunt, then?Take what the pitcher gives. A free run.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 I don't mind scoring like this on Keuchel.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Joltin' Joe Mauer is.... But maybe use a traditional handle-equipped bat next time and go for a hit, Joe.
DrNeau Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Take what the pitcher gives. A free run. Didn't show bunt with 1 out this time. Okay!

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Ah, the classic bases-loaded Mauer walk. Keuchel has thrown 8 balls to 1 strike in his last 9 pitches.
