I think I would have had Sano start the game as the DH to get an at bat against Boyd. Last weekend pretty much established that the Tigers do not have major leaguers in their bullpen. I'd rather see him swing against the best they have to offer. Only want to give him one at bat? Fine. Pinch hit for him right away. Not that complicated.

The thing is, the Tigers would have to be ahead or tied going into the bottom of the 9th for that to happen. So then, the question is, which position would he play in which inning? Save playing pitcher for the bottom of the 9th? Now THAT would be interesting. Of course, I suppose he'd only need to throw one pitch.

That's the 3rd ball I've seen at Target hit the very top of the padding this year off a Twins bat.  Instead of moving the fences in, how about just dropping the height a little bit.
