Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 I was referring to the part where they stopped the game to flatten the mound at the request of the White Sox.Oh. Heh.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Well at least we will get to see the Sox closer in game 1.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Lol. Okay, I like being here when that happens.

drock2190 Verified Member Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Thought Dozier almost hit a dong Like the Twins almost coming back. Just short.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Busenitz has looked really sharp so far. The more he throws, the more he looks like a keeper.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 (edited) I swear, Busenitz has closer stuff. That fastball low on the outside corner, down plane, zap. Reminds me of Joe Nathan. Edited August 22, 2017 by jimbo92107
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Sigh. Losing to a team we shouldn't be losing to at this stage of the game. snepp 1

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Falveys decision to start Melville cost us that game.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Now it's 30 mins to the next one. Not sure how long I'll stay. Don't relish training then walking my way home at 1am, at the rate this is going. Oh, and if someone could post the next game's lineup for me when it's available, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Falveys decision to start Melville cost us that game.Yeah. But if we had won ... sigh. Shouldn't lose. Mill1634 1
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Another terrible, old, never was. I would love a new approach.... Like Verlander it s young player with upside. Like Slegers, for example. But why bother trying?

Just swap Melville for Slegers and problem fixed.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Here's the Twins lineup: There wasn't a comparable of the White Sox lineup.
Darius Verified Member Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 That's an awful game to lose. First, it was thrown away by management by throwing two independent league guys who have no business on an MLB diamond. That's the worst of it for me. Today's starter wasn't pitching in an MLB system at this time last year. It's mind boggling to me. Second, the players dribble multiple bases loaded situations with less than two outs (as they've done all year). Also, they played the worst baseball team in the league tonight. They traded like 6 guys away, and are a bunch of prospects. I went from being optimistic about this team, to convinced that they're not going anywhere in about 3 hours. Too many games have been meaninglessly thrown away this year. Drives me nuts how these execs and managers try to turn a kids game into rocket science and punt games.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 So, Beatles night at Guaranteed Rate Field consisted of an awful imitation band who played 4-5 songs out of tune to a lackluster crowd. pbrezeasap 1
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Hmm, apparently the real Beatles played Comisky Aug 20, 1965
ThejacKmp Provisional Member Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Not trade Garcia?Trade for someone's 4/5th starter? Hindsight is 20/20. I think they made out well trading Garcia. I'm down to trade for someone's 4th or 5th starter but how good is that guy compared to what they have? What does it cost? I don't want to give up significant prospects for a random 4th or 5th starter who is as likely to fall off a cliff and be worse than Gee/Sledgers/Enns as he is to be a solid starter. The first game was always going to be rough. Hopefully they can take this second.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Hmm, apparently the real Beatles played Comisky Aug 20, 1965On a brighter note, nobody could hear the Beatles play. They were cheering too loudly.

Like Slegers, for example. But why bother trying? Sledgers would have been on short rest. You think he's that good that he's going to pitch well on short rest? Melville on full rest > Sledgers on short rest.

Melville on full rest > Sledgers on short rest.It was an example of going young, not him specifically. Stop with the old, never was, players. Apparently that was not clear?

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Woohoo ... Polanco ... twice in one night he hits the 3-run homer just not in the same game.
