I was referring to the part where they stopped the game to flatten the mound at the request of the White Sox.

Oh. Heh.

I swear, Busenitz has closer stuff. That fastball low on the outside corner, down plane, zap. Reminds me of Joe Nathan.

Now it's 30 mins to the next one. Not sure how long I'll stay. Don't relish training then walking my way home at 1am, at the rate this is going.

Oh, and if someone could post the next game's lineup for me when it's available, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Another terrible, old, never was. I would love a new approach.... Like Verlander it s young player with upside. Like Slegers, for example. But why bother trying?

I sure hope Slegers will be back. He's on track to start tomorrow in AAA (he would be pitching on short rest if he started today). Just swap Melville for Slegers and problem fixed.

That's an awful game to lose.

First, it was thrown away by management by throwing two independent league guys who have no business on an MLB diamond. That's the worst of it for me. Today's starter wasn't pitching in an MLB system at this time last year. It's mind boggling to me.

Second, the players dribble multiple bases loaded situations with less than two outs (as they've done all year).

Also, they played the worst baseball team in the league tonight. They traded like 6 guys away, and are a bunch of prospects.

I went from being optimistic about this team, to convinced that they're not going anywhere in about 3 hours. Too many games have been meaninglessly thrown away this year. Drives me nuts how these execs and managers try to turn a kids game into rocket science and punt games.

Not trade Garcia?

Trade for someone's 4/5th starter?

Hindsight is 20/20. I think they made out well trading Garcia.

I'm down to trade for someone's 4th or 5th starter but how good is that guy compared to what they have? What does it cost? I don't want to give up significant prospects for a random 4th or 5th starter who is as likely to fall off a cliff and be worse than Gee/Sledgers/Enns as he is to be a solid starter.

The first game was always going to be rough. Hopefully they can take this second.

Hmm, apparently the real Beatles played Comisky Aug 20, 1965

On a brighter note, nobody could hear the Beatles play. They were cheering too loudly.

Sledgers would have been on short rest. You think he's that good that he's going to pitch well on short rest? Melville on full rest > Sledgers on short rest.

It was an example of going young, not him specifically. Stop with the old, never was, players. Apparently that was not clear?

So, Beatles night at Guaranteed Rate Field consisted of an awful imitation band who played 4-5 songs out of tune to a lackluster crowd.

So YOU'RE one of the 36 people at this game?
