Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 I am not going to last for much longer. While I am most definitely not a morning person, I'm playing tennis tomorrow morning. glunn and Blake 2
Danchat Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Castro has looked really good at the plate today. That sure doesn't happen often. glunn 1

TwinsCD Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Dozier taking window shopping lessons from Castro. SWING THE DAMN BAT!!
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Dozier taking window shopping lessons from Castro. SWING THE DAMN BAT!!Youre an ump, you know that was outside
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Sano actually looks nervous
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 I'm out too for the night, been fun all bullpen's got this glunn and jimbo92107 2
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Youre an ump, you know that was outside The first time he struck out looking, it was definitely outside. But apparently, this Triple-A ump has established that as his edge so the next time you see that pitch, ESPECIALLY with 2 strikes, you have to hack at it. And once again, the Twins leave the bases loaded. Hosken Bombo Disco 1

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 (edited) Jaime not bowling me over tonight. Looks like every other twins starter in the last 7 seasons Edited July 29, 2017 by Aggies7
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 That was a swing. And it cost a run.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Have any of these umpires ever umpired before? Phil Cuzzi's at 2nd tonite....we know his track record. h2oface 1
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 He's gotten the pitches when he's needed to. Good thing bc otherwise he hasn't been good
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 What I'm not seeing from Garcia is a willingness to work inside. I have not seen him make batters move their feet. Instead, he's doing a lot of nibbling on the outside corner, and Oakland's boys are starting to lean out over the plate and smack those pitches to the outfield. Good DP by Sano/Dozier. glunn 1
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Phil Cuzzi's at 2nd tonite....we know his track record.Could you be more specific?
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Either Garcia stops nibbling outside, or the A's are going to smack him around next inning.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 I agree. I wonder if Granite could make Grossman the odd man out?I'd trade Grossman if they can get anything of value
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Garcia really needs to pitch inside. He can't depend on deep fly ball outs. glunn 1
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 (edited) There, see? I wasn't worried. ;-) In my own defense, the last batter he did pitch inside. Maybe Garcia really likes the left side of the plate. Also, I'm kind of stupid. Edited July 29, 2017 by jimbo92107 glunn 1
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 If these results are typical, I'll take Jaime Garcia as a mid rotation starter. He's also got a legitimate bat. Anybody that can pop a baseball over the fence at least has a very good swing. Inning-eating lefty with a sub-.4 ERA is fine by me. glunn 1
jun Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 I think Sano leads the league in strikeouts now. He has three strikeouts today and Davis has only one. glunn 1
howeda7 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Who'd have figured Matt Belisle would have trade value? glunn and Danchat 2
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Starting to look like Matt Belisle is finding his game. Sneaky stuff, good command. glunn 1
Danchat Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Belisle is finally looking like the same guy who had career years in 2015 and 2016. I gotta give it to the FO, they were right to hold onto him. glunn and ThejacKmp 2
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 It's interesting that Kintzler and Colon throw the same two-seamer that bends arm-side about a foot. Difference is that Kintzler's pitch is going about 5 mph faster, and Kintzler works only one inning. BTW: They both learned the pitch from Greg Maddux. glunn 1
