Looks like the Twins will miss Kershaw (in rotation to pitch Sunday), and one of Wood or Hill. Hard to say yet with the all the Dodger pitchers available exactly who will go on what day, but Kershaw will not be pitching against the Twins.

also looks like monday is the day the dodgers are scheduled for their colon-oscopy.

Ludicurous? Cameron Maybin had huge physical upside and loud tools in his young career. At 24, Maybin produced 4.3 WAR and Padres just thought what you said. But you knew, he never got better. In MLB history, there were many players like Maybin.

Yes, -0.1 vs 0.1 or -0.1 vs 0.5, getting better WAR. But if Twins want to win champ, Polanco need to become 3~4 WAR player, that's huge jump and no one had done that in MLB history.

I hate to bring this up, but Aaron Hicks was a -.3 WAR last year, and is a 2.8 WAR so far this year. That being said, WAR, what is it good for?

Pretty bummed about that. You wait all year to go to these games and Falvey and Levine gives us Colon. He is talking about retiring if he doesn't do well on his second start. A two game rental. What a joke. Probably get one oh Hill or Wood. Hard to tell with so many pitchers they work in and status of injuries. The Dodgers won their 10th straight last night 1-0. Even when they don't hit, they win.

How good is Berrios' change up?  I don't really ever watch live, just a box score and gameday follower.  Just wondering why he doesn't throw it more

A lot to like in JOB's performance today. Shaky early, but once he got run support (and confidence) he was really good.

Molitor just has to put Grossman in the field. Gross. I can understand, I guess. That let's Molitor DH a .218 hitter (Polanco). Seems reasonable, eh? Recipe for winning.

Is it possible that Eddie is sitting because of his stupid throw last night, not because of a LHP on the mound? Lots of posters were calling for him to be yanked (making him a yankee???) immediately in the middle of the game. Much man-management goes on behind the scenes that we never see ...

Not trying to defend Molitor, but who on the bench would you want hitting against a pitcher that has dominated left handed hitting this year?

Mauer. He has that perfect swing, and makes adjustments, right?

How many relievers do the Yankees have that are better then our best one?

6? 7?

Now, now ... We have lots of relievers capable of 4-pitch walks.

I can understand giving a real teammate another start after they tell me they are considering retiring, and quitting, but not a rental side show. 20 year vet in this league and he still needs to speak through a translator. He has been as lazy with language and he has been in taking care of his body.

Yes but he is Polanco like at the plate right now. The whole offense is struggling right now with runners in scoring position.

I don't like how Bremer and a few other posters have heaped a ton of praise on a guy that isn't hitting much at the plate, suggesting we should trade Buxton for Granite.

There is no way that Granite will even be close to the player that Buxton ends up being, the are not even on the same planet when it comes to level of athlete and power. Granite is a 4th outfielder not a starter.

All true, but Buxton is on the DL and not eligible to play today, so...

Grossman would rather walk than get a hit. Here it was again. 0-2 and a pitch to hit, but would rather go for the walk. Too close to let go by.

Of course, why not? Again, give me a name who has negative WAR two consecutive years under 24 then become a first-division player in the future.

Harmon Killebrew.

Not saying Polanco is Killebrew, obviously, but he fits your definition. I'm just guessing there's more of these guys than we realize -- I'm just not smart enough to know how to search.

Another way of thinking about it is that he have to have a certain amount of talent to get almost 600 PAs before your 24th birthday. There's an awful lot of guys still in the minors at that age. I think basically anyone good and athletic enough to get even a cup of coffee by age 20, particularly at SS, is going to get a pretty long look, possibly including at other positions.

This is a great point.  Imagine how much more excited we'd be about Polanco if he was hitting .330/.380/.500 in AAA.  WOuldn't make him a better player, but a 24 year old in MLB is still quite underage.

Probably not a fair comparison. When Killebrew came up there was a rule requiring that "bonus babies" had to stay in the majors. He accumulated a lot of AB when very young. It would be like Rooker or Lewis having to be on the Twins active roster now.
