drjim Provisional Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Headed to Fort Myers. All the weeping and gnashing of teeth can now subside.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 I'm impressed it is FTM, actually. Good luck to him and the Miracle.
benji21 Verified Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 I actually did LOL at the topic title. What a perfect encapsulation of our discourse on him here XD Edit: emojii didn't work.
Han Joelo Verified Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Fort Myers???!!! They're crazy. They are pushing him too far, too fast. Typical bungle job. I'm being a sarcastic jerk, of course. Good deal for him. They should have started him in the GCL, then he wouldn't have to even move his stuff. Anyway, a month here, a month in Rochester, and then he'll skip MLB and go straight to the Galactic Baseball League.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 I seem to remember from the beginning that this was where he was going to go. I'm fine with that. He got a 3 week wood bat tune up instead of a 2 week. Now we get to see how he handles an environment not friendly to power hitters against pitchers that are much better than rookie ball.

I did appreciate the angst in the interim, one of the best things about this board.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Headed to Fort Myers. All the weeping and gnashing of teeth can now subside.Woohoo ... unfortunately ... won't be heading back to the Fort until September, so won't see him play this year.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Woohoo ... unfortunately ... won't be heading back to the Fort until September, so won't see him play this year. Hopefully you won't see him in FTM next spring either, at least not in A+ ball.
gman Verified Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 It would be nice to see him in the Twins lineup at the end of next year helping protect Sano. And playing First Base of course.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Hopefully you won't see him in FTM next spring either, at least not in A+ ball.Ah ... I'll see him next Spring ... in March ... wherever he lands for the start of the season, he'll be on the fields somewhere in March
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 By the way ... you can keep up with Rooker's progress on his Adopt-a-Prospect page here!
Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Well I might actually have to go to a Miracle game now. Maybe take some video, maybe not.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Exactly as originally planned. I did appreciate the angst in the interim, one of the best things about this board. Can you link to some of this angst? I do recall a few posts wondering how soon he'd move up, can't remember much angst, off the top of my head.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Looking at recent dominant college hitters who moved quickly, Schwarber and Bryant both ended their draft year at the A Adv. level. Benintendi ended his draft year at A full, started the next year at A advanced, then moved to AA and eventually the majors the next season. Rooker is right on track to move very quickly if he hits.
Steve Lein Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 So apparently they didn't lie when they said that is what they were going to do... Seems many around here didn't believe them.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Already in the lineup for the Miracle tonight btw.
