jimmer Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Ball went off the tip of Grossman's glove after he ran a long way. It didn't go in and out. He played it as well as he could. Legitimate hit.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Personally I find it hard to watch Rosario prance around the outfield all the time. However i would take the slightly erratic players, Sano's fundamentals don't worry me nearly as much as Rosario's.I agree on Rosario. He was fun to watch as a talented, unpredictable rookie, but it's time for him to harness some of that energy and learn to play smarter.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Grossman should have caught that ball. Had them short arms going for him....
Huddy Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Are we over Santiago yet? I would much rather see that slot in the rotation be given to one of the AA guys on a couple game by couple game basis. Just to get their feet wet and if they stick GREAT. Maybe give Slegers a shot as well?

jimmer Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I was watching the Indians game before this one started. Clevinger (the Indians pitcher) walked 3 guys in the first inning, didn't give up a run in that inning. He's still pitching.
jimmer Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Now is the time to get at least two back.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Could really use a big hit by Dozier!

jimmer Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Sure, but what do you think of Sano's fielding? If I had my way, Grossman would be full time DH (since they refusse to put Sano there full time). I said that during the offseason. But he played that well. A faster guy gets that, but he played it well. Just didn't catch it.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Do we have a Astros-like 10-run inning in us?
Huddy Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 With Freddie Freeman of the braves switching over to 3rd base I want to ask, How do you guys think Mauer would do at 3rd? just a crazy thought.

I'd still like Vargas to play most days though, so I've got a bit of a conundrum on my hands. I'm not sold on Vargas being an every day player yet, but I'm not convinced he's not. I'm also not convinced that Grossman is either. I know that I don't like seeing a glove on his hand though.
Huddy Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 That's just crazy talk...Sorry I just think he would adapt quickly there. Have a Solid power hitting first baseman and have Sano DH as a secondary option at 1st and 3rd.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Now we're gettin' somewhere! OK, not so much...

jimmer Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Now is the time to get at least two back.Maybe I should have said at least five back ;-)
Huddy Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Honest question...why? Good glove caliber 1B not enough?Because I think he could be above average defensively wherever he plays honestly. and it would give the Twins more positional flexibility. Moving Sano to DH and having him play 1st 1/3 of the timen as well as an option at 3rd occasionally while adding a good power hitting 1st baseman. Probably a stupid idea I must admit.
Broker Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Honest question...why? Good glove caliber 1B not enough?Besides we have plenty of guys to play third.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Has Mauer gotten a big hit in the last five years? I'm so tired of him.
