Blake Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Ideas, ideas, my kingdom for an idea. Or even a clue, for that matter. I was going to mail it in with this game thread, sort of like the Twins do when they play at home, but, since the Twins, when on the road, tend to go “Mad Max” I decided I best try to put up something coherent. (yeah, yeah, I know, first time for everything) I mean, seriously, what team gets clobbered at home then turns around and clobbers the team that just clobbered them? Okay, yes, the Twins do just that, but still, really? I've gotten to the point this year I look forward to the Twins going on the road. I cannot emphasize just how much fun this year has been. Baseball tends to be weird but the Twins have hit 11 on the weird scale. Which suits me just fine, because opportunities abound for humor, angst, anger, wonder and jubilation. (Disagree? Check out the game threads some time. Okay, actually, check out the game threads all the time.) And the Twins hit KC just as KC appears to be getting on a roll. And, with the way the first two games went, it appearsedthat has been born out. However, Mr. Sano's bat seems to have awoken from it's slumber, along with other Twins bats while Fexlix Jorge made an excellent debut with the MLB club. I sit here putting this up, sitting in an Anaheim hotel (which, by the, was a great location this weekend because there were a couple of outstanding fireworks display visible from our hotel window) realizing hey, time to go eat! I hope everyone has had a great weekend and enjoys the Fourth of July! Until Next time: Play ball! Pitching for the Twins: Hector Santiago Pitching for KC: Travis Wood

Old Twins Cap Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Winning today's game, after a seriously rough patch of baseball, coming home with a winning record on the road against Cleveland, Boston and a newly resurgent KC, well... that would be remarkable. Only to give it all back at Target Field in the next week? Hard team to figure. No real bullpen. Starters well below average. Offense is near the bottom of the league. Now committing errors on routine plays. Pythagorus would have them in last place. Just a weird but fun year.

Jerr Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I WANT CHICKEN FOR DINNER, TWINS!!!!!NOW, PLAY LIKE YOU DO TOO!!!!!! Twins could really use a win today and need to pickup right from yesterdays' second game!!!
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I think it was a mistake to send down Alan Busenitz. His stuff is hard and low in the zone, just what you want from a reliever. Granted, his outings were inconsistent, but at this point, isn't he a better bet than Belisle?

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Tough weekend for mouse clicks I'd settle for keystrokes... But not too surprised if this turns out to be a busy weekend in general.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I too expect to only chime in awkwardly today. Gonna get ready for a parade... I am still disappointed with myself for not chiming in with more Suess related coments yestergame. And the Jabborwock is something special, even when not muppeted.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 And just so fans of Chief-esc humor are not left in a lurch (even if it has extra headroom) feel free to ponder this question: What is a fisherman's net worth?
jimmer Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Apparently Felix Jorge open a bunch of people's eyes and was soooo impressive last night...

Huddy Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Apparently Felix Jorge open a bunch of people's eyes and was soooo impressive last night...Well, he wasn't bad. I would love to see Gonsalves as well as Romero get a shot as well in the next few months.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Apparently Felix Jorge open a bunch of people's eyes and was soooo impressive last night... Not sure if this is sarcasm but his perpherials say otherwise. 2 strikeouts, low swinging strike percentage, not many groundballs either. Seemed composed out in the mound though, better than Turley or any other waiver wire pickup.

jimmer Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 another smart play by one of our youngsters. Is it possible this team has a negative baseball IQ? :-)
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 another smart play by one of our youngsters. Is it possible this team has a negative baseball IQ? :-)Sano needs to watch the third base coach and follow his signals. That was a tragic out.

He may never amount to much, but I'd say he held his own.
akmanak Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Another reason why I believe Molitor does not have what it takes to be a manager. He should of challenged that play, but Sano has no business trying to take 3rd there.

Dozier got robbed with a home run call being called foul and Hosmer got his foul ball a homerun.
Huddy Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Seems like Santiago is giving up a few MPH on his fastball for improved command. Maybe he was paying attention when Vargas was pitching???

AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I don't know if Jorge was impressive enough to earn another turn. I will say though that the double in the first inning is an out if Buxton was playing CF, and they go 1-2-3 in the first instead of down 2-0.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 of Chief-esc ...Is this a new keystroke command we don't know about: ctrl+Chief+esc ?
drock2190 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Our favorite Indian (Ramirez) pretty much single handily took out Verlander. I also have both in Fantasy! Verlander is a bum!
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 You have actually seen an angle in which you can see the ball??? I have. If you haven't, how can you claim the ball was definitively foul?
Huddy Verified Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I have. If you haven't, how can you claim the ball was definitively foul?I must be blind. I didn't look into it much after the fact though. I'll just go along with the popular opinion on this one!
