She means when you like your cocktails in a chilled cocktail glass. This is how I prefer to enjoy my Manhattans.

This is the only proper way to enjoy a Manhattan.

We need a nickname for Adelberto. I vote for Bert, given that the other Bert's full name is Rik Aalbert.

With what? A tablespoon? A stalk of celery? A pretzel stick?

I mean, all are good options.

Oh, yes, and chunky, or smooth? I gotta have the crunch.

Uhh, yes. Yes is the correct response!

I don't want to start any riots.

Correct, and preferably with a nice brandied cherry garnish.

Oh. I was thinking she might meant "not dead". In which event I'd only be half-eligible.

A Manhattan! Jeez! I don't think I've heard someone mention that drink since I was a college student moonlighting as a bartender in a sophisticated supper club. Why they let me work there I don't know. Probably had something to do with my witty repartee. Or maybe it was because I was underage and they could underpay me without fearing I'd squeal on them.

I'm a whiskey guy, so Manhattans are a staple along with Sazeracs.

Over the winter, I barrel aged each of those cocktails and they turned out pretty well. I've still got some left, but 2 liters don't go as far as you'd think!

Ritz crackers are my go to scooping device.

Heathen. Ritz crackers are treat unto themselves. They are pristine and pure and not to be sullied by, shudder, toppings.

What if I told you that I smother them cheese in a can?

I don't, but I like to needle a trigger point when I can. Plus, that stuff is disgusting.

Methinks a couple more runs would be very useful tonight. I'm not sure I trust Señor Mejía and his successors to hold a two-run lead.

I remember a long ago night, back the day, (is that a contradiction?) hearing Herb Carneal announce a White Sox hitter-- " and now coming up is George Orta.  Except he spells it J-o-r-g-e..."

I concur.  Especially his successors.

I just hope we can avoid a "Snapper-Wheels-Come-Off-Inning"™  tonight.

I can eat them naked. But probably not everyone wants to know that.

If you're going to dress up a ritz, try a slab of Schmidt's Original Summer Sausage, topped with a sliver of Swiss cheese. Schells Light or a fine German riesling make a fine wash, both cleanse the palate and sharpens the taste buds. And paves the way for a follow-up ritz.

I feel like this needs to be a thing. The prize could be sponsored by Tires Plus or something.

KEPLER!

That did not take long to leave the yard.

I shall have a Ritz and peanut butter in his honor.

Ah yes, use the Ritz cracker to elevate the flavor of ordinary fair. Excellent idea.

Interestingly I don't like whiskey. But Manhattans are Mmm Mmm Good. I prefer Canadian whiskey for my Manhattans because it's a lighter flavor.

I'll make mine with Canadian rye now and then. Bourbon is good for a bit of a sweeter drink if that's of interest.

If you can find a barrel aged Manhattan at a bar, I'd recommend them. It really mellows a cocktail out. That goes for any barrel aged cocktail really.

101 pitches, his arm will fall of if he throws any more.

Why press our luck any further?  Great spot to bring in Duffy who hopefully goes 1 and a third.
