yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Santiago has given up 2 runs in the first and third innings. Isn't that odd?
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 It's better than score a run, give 11 right back. Glass 1/10th full, my friend, 1/10th full...You say that as if it's happened recently...
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Santiago may actually be our worst starting pitcher. That's hard to do with Gibson in the rotation. I'm guessing that you'll change your tune tomorrow.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 I did not expect Santiago to pitch in the 6th today! So that's nice.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 I see that the old score a run give it right back routine has returned. I don't like it.We just want to make them feel like they're doing well...
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Hey only one in the 5th! We're coming! Santiago probably one more. Barring a couple runs by the Twins, it still makes little sense to use Duffey, Rogers or Kintzler today. So, my guess is Pressly, Breslow and Belisle for 1 IP each. May God have mercy.
rghrbek Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 I did not expect Santiago to pitch in the 6th today! So that's nice. They almost have to bring him back out there right? Who are we going to burn in the 7th-9th? Duffey and Rogers? I mean they have not pitched in a couple of games right? I'd say we might want to save them for meaning full innings tomorrow, but then I realized who was starting.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Only good things happen when Buxton is on the bases.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Buck gets that average back above .200!
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Is Gibson tomorrow? I've already formed the opinion that Mejia is better than Santiago, or at least gives us a better chance to win. Gibson, on the other hand, he.... well... sucks, frankly. My bad, Mejia is slated for tomorrow. Gibson for Friday.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Buxton finds himself in scoring position. So far, so good.
rghrbek Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Buck gets that average back above .200!Yup, May 31st, and it's up to .203...Astros gonna regret that decision they made...
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Buxton has a career BABIP of .318. I honestly think he could sustain .350, maybe .375.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Apparently Joe Nathan is now available--our bullpen woes are solved!
rghrbek Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 My bad, Mejia is slated for tomorrow. Gibson for Friday.I will 2nd the my bad, as I thought Gibby was starting tomorrow as well. That makes the question out there a good one, who finishes off this game? Hopefully not Duffey or Rogers.
wavedog Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 I guess what is slightly depressing is that we are at home, we didn't face the 3 top Astros starters in this series and we had Santana and Berrios pitching. And yet none of the games have ended up being close. Their hitters sure look locked in. Maybe we will do better when we play them in Houston and we can catch them in a cold spell.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Yup, May 31st, and it's up to .203...Astros gonna regret that decision they made... I mean, he was at .147/.256/.176 for the month of April, and before today's game was .250/.311/.382 in May. He's made great strides this month, and is no longer an offensive liability, particularly given how amazing his defense is.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 I will 2nd the my bad, as I thought Gibby was starting tomorrow as well. That makes the question out there a good one, who finishes off this game? Hopefully not Duffey or Rogers.Eddie Guardado?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 It's not easy to strand the fastest runner in the game, at 2B, with no outs! Accomplishments!
rghrbek Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 I mean, he was at .147/.256/.176 for the month of April, and before today's game was .250/.311/.382 in May. I would take .250 from him any day, and that OB%...especially with that D, and his base stealing abilities.
wavedog Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Polanco not looking too good lately offensively - he might need a day off.
rghrbek Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Polanco not looking too good lately offensively - he might need a day off. He's been striking out at an elevated level lately. Dick is going to have less to talk about during his at bats.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Polanco may need a day. That's two strikeouts already from a guy that never strikes out. Last two in one game was early April.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Hey, it's not an odd numbered inning! What does he think he's doing?!?!
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Send Santiago out for the next inning. but have someone ready. It looked (on Gameday) like Houston was going to swing at everything, to get this game over with.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Alright... Gonna grab a bite to eat. When i come back, i wanna see this here mess cleaned up, okay?
wavedog Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Grossman struck out swinging this time - baby steps
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 So, did Grossman and Rosario do a freaky friday thing or something?
rghrbek Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Gimenez again making us forget about Joe Joe...
wavedog Verified Member Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 So, did Grossman and Rosario do a freaky friday thing or something?Maybe that explains why Rosario missed the catch on Monday....
Marek Houston Wichita Wind Surge - AA SS On Saturday, Houston went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. After a short slump, he is now back over .290 on the season. Explore Marek Houston News >
