I'm so jet lagged, I might have to go to bed early tonight.

This broadcast isn't helping me stay awake, either.

Where were/are you?

The Rockies seem to have figured out how to not hit to Buxton tonight. They've hit quite a few out to Grossman. Smart team. Grossman is brutal.

You'll just have to take my word for this...I took a break to eat supper, and as Buxton came up I was thinking to myself..."self, this is an excellent matchup for Buxton, he's going deep here."

I would have posted it had I been here.  I swear.

So I'm taking credit for calling it.

False.

I never think.

She'll confirm that, though, I'm confident.

So you thought you were thinking, but thought wrong, if I have this straight. This explains a lot, and I'm going to have to go back and re-evaluate a great number of posts. This will take some time. Good night. :)

PS: I can't bear to watch this game anymore anyway.

If you're gonna elevate a fastball to the 9th place hitter with 2 strikes you better damn well make sure that he can't do anything but foul it off.  That pitch allowed Wolters to get distance on the hit rather than keeping it low and make him beat it into the ground.  And now look where this inning has gone.

tough to be an innings eater as a starter if you fail to finish 6 IP in more than half of your starts

Frank: Hey... Come Here... Look at this

Sophie: What is that?

Frank: A new statue that I purchased for the South End of Grant Park. I think it will help explain what happened to all those legs.

Sophie: There is absolutely no oversight with your job?.

Frank: Nope... No oversight at all.

I know getting into math is verboten in these parts, but the biggest reason IMO hughes hasn't been a disaster is that, in his 8 starts, he left with his team ahead by 1 or 2 runs FIVE times. All this while only pitching more than 6 innings once. The bullpen has been his biggest savior this year. HAD been, anyway.

Edit: he pitched into the7th against boston
