Chicago Bean:

Perhaps the math for 110 short or 98 long tons equals 100 lbs.

I need to go back to the "Twins Game Thread Math Version' to confirm    ;)

Constructed between 2004 and 2006, the sculpture is nicknamed The Bean because of its shape. Made up of 168 stainless steel plates welded together, its highly polished exterior has no visible seams. It measures 33 by 66 by 42 feet (10 by 20 by 13 m), and weighs 110 short tons (100 t; 98 long tons).

that weight seems more realistic.

I wish Mpls thought big like this, we should have a really cool park where a bunch of empty, crappy, building sit in downtown.....

Millennium Park is like a Minnesota State Fair as it's "atmosphere" goes, everyone is having a great time!!!

Or they could have a real park with real art just outside downtown...oh, wait.

That's quite literally not as interesting as having it right by Target Center, where they had a huge open area, and built one of the worst set of buildings ever, that didn't even allow you to flow thru them.....inside of them you had to go outside to get from one part to the other.

The sculpture garden also is not a public space, it is a private space. Minneapolis aims low. Frankly, the art hasn't changed in years, and most of it is not interactive. It's stale.

Chicago Deep Dish is more like cake with pepperoni frosting. I mean, seriously, what's the point? If I want cake, I'll buy a cake. Pizza crust is merely a way to convey meat, cheese and tomato sauce to the mouth. Anything more than that is detracting from what truly matters when it comes to pizza.

Chicago Pizza just isn't that good, man. I'm sorry you had to hear it from me.

Then you haven't been to the right place.  Might I suggest Bella Bacinos?  It's right by that corn cobb shaped building and across the street from the Trump tower...

Pizza Luce is the single most over rated thing in MN. IMO, of course...

I think there are more than a few things that are overrated in MN. However, MN doesn't have nearly as many overrated things as CA.

I don't believe that's true. It's commonly misconceived as an extension of the Walker, but it is, in fact, owned and operated by the City of Minneapolis.

While I generally agree, there can be life changing crusts.

I think Detroit style is my favorite pizza....

Interesting. thanks, that might be why the art NEVER changes and is stale.

To me, deep dish is NOT a pizza!!!

"cake with pepperoni frosting" that's really good!!!!! I'm gonna use that, the next time someone wants a deep dish   :)

Point taken. However, it's in the process of being completely revamped. I'd be shocked if the same old pieces make the cut this time around.

I won't go near that area cuz I don't agree with Corn Cob's politics.

really? Cool. I'll have to check it out next time I am there.

to me, nearly every time I am there, there are almost no people there. It isn't a destination. It isn't interactive. Even art that has been there 15+ years, that is big enough to climb on, discourages kids from doing so. There are vast open spaces, that are roped off at time (always?).

It's always been less than it could be, imo. Like Buxton so far, all the hype, none of the results, but always hope it can be better.

Yeah my mistake... I meant that Chicago Pizza weighs 100 pounds.

So with Buxton hitting .071 and Mauer hitting .091 can we give them a nickname?

The point 0 Bros?

I seem to recall someone doing a game thread intro involving the number Zero. The name escapes me at the moment, however....

If the art is stale, is it truly art? (caveat: serious question. I feel I need to add that disclaimer considering my usual posts.)
