 It's scary how entrenched so many Americans are. 

 

The human inability to admit they made a mistake and in fact aren't infallible is incredible. Sure, we all have that instinct to some degree, but for some of our species it's pretty much their defining attribute. When did we start treating stubbornness as a positive quality? I mean we weren't praising mules when we said 'stubborn as a mule', were we? Or was I the only one interpreting that one wrong?

I don't think there's enough there-there for anything to come of this much less stick on Trump in some damaging way.  Until we have credible evidence of what compromising information the Russians have on Trump or what benefit Trump promised the Russians to withhold that info, it's much ado about nothing I'm afraid.

I don't think there's enough there-there for anything to come of this much less stick on Trump in some damaging way.  Until we have credible evidence of what compromising information the Russians have on Trump or what benefit Trump promised the Russians to withhold that info, it's much ado about nothing I'm afraid.

Maybe not yet but the ball is just getting rolling here. It's going to be an ugly few months.

 

Each report we see is more damning than the last. That will have to change if Trump is going to get through this unscathed.

I mean, it certainly seems he has some sort of dog in the fight in his approach with Russia.  Whether that dog has to do with his business or something else, we're going to find out. 

 

But his behavior around Russia is nothing short of odd and sketchy.

Still, I think to myself if the headlines read: Putin Goes Down After US Screwed with Russian Elections, the response from the American public would be, "Why didn't we do that a decade ago?"

 

I've heard/read a couple times that the belief is he was motivated to do this in part because he felt (probably rightly) that we did the same during his own "elections".  I'm less worried about his attempts to meddle as I am with him possibly leveraging political relationships.

 

I know the concerns about Taiwan and China and all that, but Russia is still the most unpredictable future antagonist/destabilizer of the world.

I'm hearing 2 of trumps finalist for the supreme court are horrible from a conservative standpoint, not John Roberts in hindsight a little to moderate, but almost want to confirm Obama's nominee bad.  If the Democrats had somehow won both congress and the senate I would fear what we get next week as Trump has never in any meaningful way established he is a conservative other then things he's said in between known lies.  I hope Republicans are letting him hang himself if he becomes the liberal that he's been the majority of his life. Make that nomination Donald it's time to show your true colors.  As a politician I like his counter punch style even if it's a bit much at times (better to error on that side then to ever come up short) and to the extent that he worked for the inside straight he needed to be elected despite losing by 2.1% I give him credit for being able to do things others can't.  Problem is when after the election and before any of his policy fights start he's still telling way to many provable lies and I just don't trust he's a conservative.  He'll try to bully Republicans that disagree with him and will have success when he goes after the moderates, but good luck if Ted Cruz Mike Lee and Rand Paul start fighting him

What precisely are you hearing? And from who?  I seriously doubt Trump would pick liberals, but he certainly could pick Justices that aren't social conservatives, but are very pro-globalization, anti-labor, etc.

I'm curious what terrible from a conservative means. If that means they think people are equal and deserve to marry whoever they want, that abortions are a women's health issue, and people can believe in whatever they want... That sounds alright to me. I doubt trump is going against guns (the nra owns the past that supports him), I doubt he's going against the interests of businesses, I doubt he's going against the interests of the wealthy... what's left?

I can handle disagreements on policy and priorities, but I hate this man in a way I didn't think was possible for a President. My compassion and understanding for those that voted for him plummets by the day. And he hasn't even started.
