It's fun to tune in to a Twins game when it's tied or close in the 6th or 7th. It's like watching the movie 'Pearl Harbor' and using the skip button to bypass the insipid love triangle subplot and get right to the bombs being dropped and stuff blowing up.

The more I watch Polanco play, the more I like what he brings to the roster. He's so athletic, smooth in his movements, and has good fundamentals both as a hitter and fielder. I can see him being a solid MLB player from what I have seen so far.

The run expectancy matrix predicts that the average team should score about 1.5 runs with one out and bases loaded, but there's an asterisk notation that says that in that situation late and close, the Twins average negative 0.5 runs, which I didn't even know was possible.

Has Cleveland at least had the decency to hit the ball to Beresford yet? The kid sailed to America on a raft he made from plastic milk jugs, for heaven's sake.

 

Edit: Ok, he got a hit, so handling a chance and recording an assist at third is optional now.

Edit: Ok, he got a hit, so handling a chance and recording an assist at third is optional now.

He made a great play down the line saving a run or two and he's made some more plays too.
