I am against cats and dogs. They are burden to the human way of life.

Meow, meow, ruff, ruff. Souless animals.

Go to hell. We cannot be friends anymore. *******.

I was puzzled by that more so the second time. Dozier has been insanely hot, but cooled slightly, lately. But this last AB. I would rather pitch to Polanco than Mauer, any day of the week. I like Polanco, there is just no comparison when it comes to experience at all.

That doesn't really reflect my views on pets and their well being. I just don't want that burden. It is a lot of responsibility and me and my wife are not up to it. Any pet owner would tell you "It is a sacrifice".

No, most wouldn't. Having a pet is a choice and not a sacrifice. Yes, it is a commitment and does take time, but it's still a choice and not a sacrifice. But there is nothing wrong with you and your wife not wanting one. Nothing more horrible than someone getting a pet just to get one and then not really loving it or paying attention to it or taking care of it. Or worse, abandoning it when they realize they don't really want it.

You are correct. People who love and want pets will most likely take care of them and do the right thing.

Another thing is that people assume having a pet is a family tradition (it is true) but a lot of poor people have a pet. Growing up in a beaten down construct of a poor family that seen the family pet beaten with a 2x4 and kicked and beaten fist wise. Who is next?

I don't feel any reason to defend myself.

Bark, I'm not criticizing you here. Your choice is yours and is just fine. I was just commenting that I don't think having a pet is a sacrifice but a choice. And yes, some shouldn't choose to have one if they aren't going to care for them.

Hey ... I understand that and respect that you're not getting one. If you'd ever heard one of my rants against ****ty pet owners, you'd know that to be true.

However, that last comment did nothing but touch an open wound as I recently "lost" a beloved pet due to an extremely difficult decision - that was the true sacrifice.

I grew up on a farm. We always had one dog, and numerous cats. Even an assorted sheep, goose, or whatever. But they never came in the house. We tried a house dog when we got married. Didn't work, it's definitely not the same. I just don't enjoy animals in the house, and that may be a mouse, or the cat that could catch it. (And lay it next to my chair) :). But I understand those who do, my daughter had Kaiser the Cat, which I and another daughter lived with for three I days in a rental truck from Medford OR to so MN. Let's just say Kaiser was a dominant spoiled cat, who did not take kindly to I80.
