LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Those things are not mutually exclusive.Beat me to it, but I'll add that neither the possibility of an afternoon of right-handed Mauer or crazy 70charger is necessarily a bad thing either.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Can someone replay that inning for me and tell how many runs they would have scored if that idiotic sac bunt attempt by Escobar had succeeded? TIA.Fewer. But they would be worth more, having been scored the "right" way.

TIA.IDK, I'm pretty happy with a 4 run inning and a 5-0 lead. Especially with Erv on the moung.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Neil Allen just said (OK, on tape) that Santana gets after it. If I wasn't on the Fire Allen bandwagon before, I am now.

spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 So, I was thinking about blue jays (the bird). It's a good-looking bird but it has an obnoxious call and it's an obnoxious bird. Pushes other birds around like it owns nature and a messy eater. Does that carry over to the team that is its namesake and the fans thereof? An opinion on this matter from any qualified observer (for example a resident of a large city in southern Manitoba) would be interesting to read.

Though I don't live in a large city so my opinion may not be valid.

operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Mlbtr reports Ervin has cleared waivers! With how he's been pitching I wonder what we could get for him?I made an error it was the Pioneer Press that reported it!
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 I give up. What's a moung?A commune of Khmer villages in the Battambang Province of Cambodia. He means that Ervin's stuff is so hard to pick up that it might as well be coming at them from Southeast Asia. Bam. That just happened. You're welcome.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Slightly off topic: The Mavericks will be at the Rialto in downtown Tucson next Saturday. So will Mrs Chief and her date. Even better: There's still a chance she takes me!!
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Did the Jays broadcast just have an outage or was it just me?

Platoon Verified Member Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Dozier's season had gradually gone from worrisome to excellent, but with the rest of the team settling back into its 90 loss form, he reminds me more and more of the mid-90's Knoblauch, a perennial All Star whose best years were wasted while surrounded by a collection of stiffs and kids. Well all except the perennial all star part!

The Phillies tried to adopt the name 1943-8.
