That high fastball is to Rosario what catnip is to my cat. They can't lay off, and it makes them look stupid.

Bruno: Lay off the high ones.

Rosie: I like the high ones.

Bruno: Mule!

Rosie: Nag!

Suggested that that might have turned into a hit if it got by Stroman.

I'm calling b.s.

You never know.  The second baseman might have been hit by temporary blindness.  Or loss of consciousness.

You never know.

When is the US going to start displaying those scary ass pictures on cigarette packages? I'm not a smoker but one look at some of those and any temptation to start would quickly be gone.

A starting pitcher who hasn't pissed his pants before the second inning is finished? Something something subscribe to his newsletter.

Against the Blue Jays, no less; the team that's been standing in as our substitute AL East El Guapo until the Yankees come to their senses and start slapping the Twins around like a tether ball again.

And once again, I relearn the lesson that the replay office has angles to look at that we don't always get to see, at least right away.

Looked out to me on the tag on the heel.

I thought he'd be called out too, but it had more to do with general pessimism about the Twins and about Plouffe specifically than any real certainty it was the correct call. Apparently the tag and the off-the-bag part of the slide didn't coincide.

Norman Rockwell couldn't have constructed that picture better.

Did Donaldson in any way impede Plouffe during the preparation for the slide, and would that be interference? If so, it might account for the call from NY.

Am I crazy or was Mauer just taking practice swings right-handed?

Those things are not mutually exclusive.

Dozier's season had gradually gone from worrisome to excellent, but with the rest of the team settling back into its 90 loss form, he reminds me more and more of the mid-90's Knoblauch, a perennial All Star whose best years were wasted while surrounded by a collection of stiffs and kids.

Can someone replay that inning for me and tell how many runs they would have scored if that idiotic sac bunt attempt by Escobar had succeeded? TIA.

No, he just fanned on tagging him.  He missed.

Nope.  Other angles showed no tag by Donaldson.
