As if most baserunners don't think they're safe on any close play. It's Molitor's call. There was nothing to lose by challenging. He dropped the ball on it.

What made this so odd, is that on other occasions he will challenge a call that is much more questionable, in the first inning, or even has done in in the first AB! This is another sign of is total lack of consistency when he manages. Very seat of the pants!
