Terry Ryan Fired

Regarding Antony - someone had to be named the interim GM, Antony is as good as anyone.  That doesn't mean he's even in consideration for the full time job, let alone a lock for it.  Let's not make assumptions we have no basis for.

I hope you're right.  Would have been nice to get MacPhail back last summer, or someone else already in the president's spot so we'd have some idea what they were thinking.

I saw all I needed to see of Antony during Spring Training of 2014 when the Twins rolled into the season with the most inexplicable 25 man roster I've ever seen.

Terry may not have been down there, but it is hard to believe he wasn't the one making final decisions on the roster.

Does this all but guarantee we are trading a future all star for a crappy reliever?

I don't think we can make any assumptions at this point.....but I share Brock's concerns, remember, we had Jason Bartlett penciled in at CF under Antony....

Whether you choose to believe him or not, Ryan said he didn't have much contact with the franchise while he was being treated for cancer.

And given how he was in the middle of intensive treatment for cancer, it's not a stretch to believe Terry had more important things on his mind than the 23-25 man choices for the Twins coming off a 90+ loss season.

And that's where Antony failed in a big way. The back of that roster was laughable. While typically, the 23-25 men on a roster don't make a huge difference either way, the thinking that led to those choices was broken... to be generous.

I agree completely, but it would be a typical Twins move to simply move the next guy in line to the permanent chair.  There is something to be said about that sort of loyalty, but I and many others don't feel that this is the time do approach things.  This is a very important time for this organization.  Not just for the timing of the prospects, but for how the front office evolves and handles the current situation.

I think a LOT of this has to do with the following two things that have come up in the last couple weeks:

1. Sano has proven to be a damn fine 3rd baseman.

2. Park has proven to be a bust (so far)

Moving Sano to RF ultimately sealed Ryan's fate.

7 errors in 15 games is a damn fine 3rd baseman?
