LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Because Lord knows we wouldn't want to imply that maybe Suzuki isn't very good. Three run homer. Huh. Oh, fine, whatever, Suzuki is awesome. Sign another extension already.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Welp, the daughter actually is in town, and we are meeting her for lunch. I'll leave it to the rest of you to bring this win home!I bet dad buys.
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Sadly just catching up on TiVo. Who'd a thunk it? Nunez as leadoff, and Robbie in the 3 spot! On June 10. First time ever as a 3 hitter in MLB. Yet another innovative move in TwinsWorld.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Good gawd y'all, can the Twinkies catch up?
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Is there news on why Park is playing first again? Did I miss an injury to Mauers Glove hand?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 So my friend, who's 85, told me the other day he was getting married. "WHAT??!" I exclaimed. "You're getting married?" "Yup," he said. "And get this...she's 18 and pregnant. I have to get married." I just looked at him, sort of...mouth agape. "Listen. Let me tell you a story. I went bear hunting a couple months ago. Forgot my rifle, took my umbrella instead. First morning, a big grizzly is 50 ft away...I raise my umbrella, point, pull the 'trigger' and the bear drops dead." "That's impossible," said my friend. "Someone else had to have shot that bear. " "Yeah," I said. "Think about that."
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Twinkies catch up! Plouffe plunks a sac fly!
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 But it does do graphics, as depicted below. And the cessation of the raspy, grating sound lets you know when it's done! http://images.macworld.com/images/news/graphics/150845-apple_imagewriter_original.jpg Only downside is that it only works with a Mac, which is still struggling to understand Terry's voice commands. http://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/scotty.jpg Terry grew hair and a stache?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 "And we have a tie ball game," I said. "That's Impossible," said everyone, everywhere.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 How strange is baseball... Gibson has out-lasted Rodriguez.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Haha not watching this crap today.Cya later! Come back! It's a good game now!
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Gotta love Gibson gesturing at third, like, "Hey, who...? Oh, me."
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Come back! It's a good game now! You are asking someone to come back when the team started playing better once he left? What is next - commenting on a no-hitter? (hypothetically speaking, if the Twins pitcher had a no-hitter in play.)
spinowner Provisional Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Been watching bits and pieces, just checking in now. Great heads up play by the runner to take advantage of the ill-prepared infield defense. The closest fielder to third base was the pitcher, and he has to know it's his base when the infield is shifted. It's not something a pitcher would have needed to do often in the past, but in the modern era of shifts every player needs to know every possible play in every situation. That run was on Gibson and probably the coaching staff.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Call me an old cynic, but it seems to me a major league baseball team's manager should probably have thought about, and drilled into his infielders' consciousness "who is responsible for what, when we do the shift thing," long before opening day. Such as, runner on first, LH hitter up, shift employed. Seems like that might have some chance of coming up somewhere down the line.

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Just noticed something. Ball four to Kepler got past the catcher and went back to the wall. Kepler runs to first base, but before he stopped at first, the catcher had handed the ball to the ump. That's a live ball. Anybody remember when Pete Rose stole second off a walk like that? Hard to do that if the ump calls time during an ongoing play.

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 One of the few reasons to watch the Twins these days... Kepler at first, Buxton trying to advance the runner. We should be seeing this for many years to come.

spinowner Provisional Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Ok, Nunesy, hit a gapper and see if Buxton beats Kepler to the plate.
crapforks Provisional Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 That was a pretty darn good Buxton AB
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Wow, what a nice at-bat by Byron Buxton. Darn near wore out that pitcher all by himself. Good stuff.

Baseball is the only game you can decide what you will do before the play begins. Plus, would it be possible for Dozier to field a ground ball standing up? My 5 yr old granddaughter falls on ground balls during T ball.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 I'd love to see a double steal here. Kep and Buck have plenty of speed.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Or Nunez could have bunted down the 3rd base line... better than his pop-up. Ghaaaaa!
