as of it wasn't hard enough to be a Twins fan, this seems particularly painful.

 

I was completely saddened when the team I hate the Most... The White Sox...  acquired one of my favorite non-Twin baseball players. 

 

Brett Lawrie... One of your Canuck brethren. 

 

And they are playing him at 2B!!! 

 

Freaking White Sox... Ruin Everything.

Brooks wouldn't even be the best defensive third baseman on the O's.

That's strange and you could definitely be right. But I guarantee you, the Hoover Vacuum Cleaners that are made today, are cheap and not durable compared to the ones made from the 1950's - 1970's.

I couldn't get past Lawrie being a former Blue Jay. Canadian or not, I'm holding that as a grudge.

I sometimes wonder, though, was defense just as good then and we didn't know it because we got much fewer games, saw way fewer highlights, etc?  I mean, we had the game of the week and Braves games on TBS.  Way less exposure to what was going on around the league.

 

I don't think so... Roy Smalley was standard for a SS back then. Cal Ripken... Alan Trammell. Good Glove Guys but nothing flashy.

 

The Dominicans hadn't arrived full force yet to set the new standard.

Was thinking, just before dinner, that Cleveland shouldn't worry, because Ricky's got this.

 

Cleveland ties it up, then Rosario belts one.

I see I missed out on a lot.  Finally got to see thrones....  how did they make the red woman age that fast in a few seconds?  If you could reverse that, you'd be a millionaire.

I think Ozzie is thought of that way because he was the only one doing that stuff in the 70's. He stood out... there was nobody in the same room as Ozzie. 

 

But... My God... they are all doing the stuff Ozzie did now. All those SS's you listed... They are all Ozzie Smith like in my opinion. 

 

And Arenado... Along with Lawrie when he played 3rd... and Machado...

You're trying to convince us your mouth-breathing became "a thing" due to highlight reels? I think we need a call on that: Chief? Chitown? Always33? Mike? What say you?

I recently stumbled on "The House of David" - a "Michigan-based religious commune that was founded in 1903. Members of the House of David had to abstain from eating meat, sexual intercourse and shaving/haircuts. Ten years after its inception, the commune formed a barnstorming baseball team originally known as “The Israelite House of David.”
