are you implying that a guy with a sub-.290 career OBP shouldn't be batting in arguably the most important spot in the lineup and getting the second most PAs?

He's not implying it, he's just suggesting it. Big difference.

His numbers last season were pretty close to the same LHP vs RHP.

72 points of OPS is enough of a difference that if he's only going to get spot starts here and there, a game against a really tough lefty is not the one to choose.

Ok, I'm sick of the organization giving the veterans a free pass on getting prepared for the season.  It's clear they're not getting themselves prepared for actual competition.  And I think it sends a bad message to the younger players on spring preparation.  It's one thing to allow someone who naturally works very hard to prepare them self, it's another to allow every vet on losing teams to simply go through the motions.  It started with Nathan coming in throwing 88 mph, and now it's all our guys coming in out of shape, throwing 75%, doing just enough to prepare their bodies, but obviously little to prepare their minds for the actual competition.  Not to say we're being lead by losers, but our leaders have definitely lost a ton more than they've won.  Are we preparing to lose or win?

I mean, at this point does it matter whether you run Rosario or Kepler out there against a tough lefty?

That depends.

If it were me, Kepler would start every game, regardless of the pitcher or who else was on the roster.

But they clearly aren't going to do that.

So, if he's only going to spot start 1 or 2 games a week, I'd pick a better spot than against Rodon.

In response to an earlier queery:  No.

We do not have an acceptable answer to the question...what do you call Batman skipping church?

Carry on with your regular grousing.  I'll start:  as I type this, only 3 of 4 Twins outs have come via the K.  Progress.

Oh...and in all seriousness:  Thanks SwainZag!!  Nice job.

Plenty of opportunities for the rest of you'z to step up and volunteer!

KC announcers crack me up.  One said Nunez is the one Minnesota Twins hitter who has done pretty well hitting in all five games with 3 multi-hit games.

I nominate Bark's Lounge. Specifically to get him out of hiding.

Are you sure you didn't mishear?  Like "Nunez is a Minnesota Twin.  The Minnesota Twins have done pretty well...hitting in all five games, with 3 multi-hit games."

8 ks in 14 AB now for Park. He looks every bit as lost at the plate as Buxton, but without the added value that Buck brings on defense. Are as many calling for a Park demotion as die Buxton?

Only if saying we should have never gotten Park to begin with counts :-)

Park is actually at .231/.375/.462 for the year coming into today.  I'd be thrilled with that if he ended up the year there.

Buxton:  .133/.133/.267.

I think everyone is rightfully giving him a pass since literally ever time he faces a pitcher it's for the first time. Guys like Buxton, Rosario, Sano and Plouffe continuing to flail away at pitch after pitch are embarrassing themselves, to be honest.

Of course, we all would, but come on, how sustainable is that with a k rate near 60%?
