David HK Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Heh- this job stuff. I was so regretting having to miss key September games, with just a quick check-in from time to time. So, I checked on the way to a quick meeting. 1st and 2nd, nobody out, bottom 1- I thought, oh, this looks bad. I wonder how bad. I'm thinking 2-0 first inning. Then the meeting ends, and it's 4-0, still nobody out. Now, I'm so thankful for the opportunity to finish my Morphemes powerpoint. Thanks, Twinkies, for letting me off the hook so I can enjoy work today! I know, I know, this ain't over. I'll check back in after 3rd period anyway. It's like drugs, I guess.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I'm gonna go with... He hits it on the ground with a runner on first way too often and he's slow. That's Me... Captain Obvious. I've gotta go find a decent cape to wear. I think that merits a promotion to Colonel... If he came up more often with 2 outs, he wouldn't hit into so many double plays.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I don't think the chicken is done. Give it time.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Yikes. Well, back to the U.S. Open.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 Always, you forgot the giblet gravy. That's it, out of the kitchen. No chicken for you!!My bad ... and apologies. The blame for the run differential lies solely on myself. As Blake already stated, I forgot the gravy, and we are already feeling the aftershock. The gravy is the Twins' offense. They need to pour it on before we can attempt to taste the chicken ... now here's the signal: POUR IT ON!! And THEN you can stick a fork in it.
David HK Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Hey Bark! Bark? You around? I think we need Kennys Vargas in a freaking Where's Waldo sweater. Thanks, Molly, for DHing Hunter today. He sure needs the ABs to get in tune for his bright future with the Twins next year, and he hit out of his freaking mind in AAA the past month. Oops, wait, wrong guy, sorry. So, not only does Gibby dig a rather large hole, we get another WTF lineup from the 'brainthrust.'
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Yikes. Well, back to the U.S. Open. "You don't know how lucky you... been?"
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Yikes. Well, back to the U.S. Open. Good Luck in the Tournament. Hope you shoot below Par.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Good Luck in the Tournament. Hope you shoot below Par. Wrong U.S. Open, but I suspect you knew that. So far Venus is up 4-2 in the first set. Venus looks really overmatched.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Wrong U.S. Open, but I suspect you knew that. So far Venus is up 4-2 in the first set. Venus looks really overmatched. Up, but overmatched? How's that work?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 By the way, Herrmann's got this.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I chose the wrong night to drink vodka and enjoy a Twins game....
Pius Jefferson Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Many Twins pitchers have had "convenient" injuries (after a period of "suck"). There was talk of Pelfrey being replaced by Hughes (when he returns) while Duffet stays in the rotation. What's the chance that Gibson lands on the DL? The chances probably depend on Pelfrey tomorrow even than they may not bother using the DL. I understand not trading someone not at a high point but I'd listen to offers for Kyle Gibson.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Up, but overmatched? How's that work?Oh, oops ... meant Serena is up. Venues looks overmatched in all aspects of the game.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Oh, oops ... meant Serena is up. Venues looks overmatched in all aspects of the game. Ah, that makes more sense. Thanks. Enjoy!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Ah, that makes more sense.Thanks. Enjoy!Serena took the first set 6-2.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Wrong U.S. Open, but I suspect you knew that. So far Venus is up 4-2 in the first set. Venus looks really overmatched. Ahh... Tennis... They still play that?
Whammy Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Let's get that pitch count up to get to the bullpe..... Never mind. Let's get some balls in play
Gibby Provisional Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Let's get that pitch count up to get to the bullpe.....Never mind. Let's get some balls in play Good things happen when balls are in play.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Here's to the through-coming of Dozier, scoring Buxton from second, and advancing to second on the throw. 4-1 KC (2 outs in the 3rd) er... 4-2 as Mauer does likewise. CBU.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 By the way, Herrmann's got this. Don't underestimate his contribution, which was to the pitcher's hubris.

mickeymental Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 two runs and no dp. a good inning.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 My Dad always told me, Gibby, be a through-comer. A wise man was he.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 This worked once before. Let's give it another shot.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 A wise man was he. He still is.

So, not only does Gibby dig a rather large hole, we get another WTF lineup from the 'brainthrust.'It appears that Bark is not around, which is sad since he always livens up the threads. However, I decided to make you a slightly different play on 'Waldo, reminiscent of my early Twinkie Town lurking days. I never joined TT ... I thought TD seemed a little more ... professional. Like it or not, here I stay ... and here's 'Waldo. I found him!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 He still is. I think, if i ever name a domed sports facility, it will be the wisdome...
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 And the tide is turning ... Venus is up 4-1 in the second set.
