The Lorenzo Cain at bat was a thing of beauty.

 

Reminded me of a Tim Laudner interview a few years ago. Laudner was asked, just after a batter had fouled low inside pitch off his shin, what kind of pitch he would call, down and away, etc. Laudner replied, "No, you go down in there again."

 

Gibson and Fryer must have seen the same interview.

I haven't watched tennis for years, but ChiTown can't stop talking about it so I finally decided to check it out. I know nothing about Serena and Venus. Somebody help me out. Are they sisters? Which one's older?

At least Gibson turned it around and pitched a shutout after that BP first inning.    It looked like the bullpen would be in tatters after tonight but instead they get a night off.

 

Of course, they're almost sure to burn some arms tomorrow with Pelfrey working his pyrotechnic magic.
