Also, Achter has pitched 5 and a third innings. Yup.

Driving back from Nebraska, announcers said Texas had the highest batting average and scored the most runs in the majors since the All Star game. Perfect recipe for another bad game experience for the Twins. But the baseball gods have smiled on the boys tonight. I never get tired of laughers when we administer the beatdown. They don't happen often, so awfully pleasant when they do.

.

And the Twins have allowed 3 runs in the first 2 games of this series to that juggernaut of an offense.  Given our pitching disaster of the last 2 weeks, that's pretty impressive.  Let's hope Santana has his crap together to get the series sweep.

All it takes to get back into this mess is to put together a little win streak.  Perhaps that players-only meeting yesterday helped them turn a corner.

Wow. Just watched some of the highlights. I think the Twins might have their first 40HR guy on this roster since Killebrew. Sano's shots were beautiful to say the least.

More importantly, I am very happy for Hicks. He is really going good right now. We are starting to see all of that raw talent being smoothed out. Keep it up young man!

Did they not have Achter's hat size?

No.  He should have provided it.

Bad Achter.

Not entirely. They'll only prove they can contend by not getting embarrassed on that brutal NYY, BAL, TAM road trip that starts in 4-5 days.

Yeah, more of rhetorical question really.

I have Miguel Sano on the bench of my fantasy baseball team.

:banghead:

But as I said yesterday, I can't wait to see Sano when he hits his prime. MLB, watch out.

Yeah.  I hear ya, bro.  You never know when you'll have to make the gut-wrenching decision to drive the BMW to the yacht club if the Ferrari isn't broken in yet. ;)

Beginning in 1974 we've been asking who would be the next Harmon Killebrew. I remember when it was going to be Bob Gorinski. We've been waiting ever since. Until now.

Bad Achter.

I see his name is going to be fun if he sticks around.  Not as much fun as Hu's (on first), but then nobody's is.
