Since everything is metric in Canada, it's obvious that 12:07 is the metric equivalent of 12:10, or 12:05, or maybe Midnight? I can't be sure.

Little known fact: Everything in Canada is NOT metric. I asked a Torontoan one day: If you go to your version of Home Depot to get what we call a 10' 2x4 what do you ask for? He said, I don't know about you, but I ask for a 10' 2x4! Apparently lumber in Canada is inches and feet. Or else this guy thought I looked gullible and stupid, and was amusing himself? I can't be sure! You may vote. Press 1 for yes. Press 2 for no. Press 3 for "I can't be sure".

Entertaining game thread. At least we can find humor in our trip down the standings. Non-the-less, I'll be cheering at 12:07.

Given where we are, I should probably ask "For who?"  :)

It seems that the Twins have added Tyler Duffy and placed Milone on the DL while moving Pressly to the 60-day DL.

Yet another opportunity to play Sano at third, and Molitor for some reason can't seem to play him there. I guess we need to justify paying Nunez? Or is it more that we have no one else worthy of being a major league DH? Our other options would have been Robinson or Fryer...and nobody wants to see that. Still, I'd rather see Sano at third and Nunez at DH.

Because it's "more" important to have 13 pitchers than another legit bench bat.  (Too bad the Twins couldn't have swung a trade for Valencia just for this series... actually might still be a good idea for a RH bench bat when they finally come back to their senses and go back to 12 pitchers, as always, Danny's crushing LHP again this season).

And yes, there really is no good reason why Sano isn't at 3rd base.

Mauer has a 93 wRC+. Lower than league average.....so, ya, not missing much, frankly. I'd literally cut him.

Mauer also hitting 6/34 against Price.  Good for .176/.263/.206, good decision to bench him today.

And yes you post everyday you would cut him, it's not going to happen.

Gut check time.

I suppose so. But honestly, it's a 162 game grind, and along about game 12 or so, waking up when the alarm clock tells you to is gut check time for our guys. Character is huge but most of the bad characters get weeded out by this level.

Talent level time. That's what I want to see.

I actually think Dick Bremer made a good point (!) when he said you can't make stupid mistakes when you're playing teams like this and fighting for the postseason. Clean it up!

This Blue Jays offense is so freaking ridiculous, every guy is a threat to hit it out of the park on any bad pitch. It's going to be imperative that the Twins don't make mistakes in the field or walk guys this series.

The HR's will happen, hopefully most of them will be solo shots or 2 run dingers at worst.

After a good play in one inning in a recent game, the next inning he had two that led our own Riverbrian to say something along the lines of "those were plays that make a manager lean over to one of the other coaches and say I can't play him there."

I don't think it's really as extreme as that, but it might be a factor. Let him watch and learn from the bench and expose him defensively as gradually as possible.

FYI for everyone not in MInnesota, the game is on MLBN today. (beats MLB.tv delays!)

Hicks has a .600 OBP against Price. Why is today the day you move him down in the lineup?

1 start every three weeks is pretty gradual......

I like Twins' HRs.
