I suspect, at least for awhile, Mauer might have a few at bats where the pitcher is not going to worry about walking him for fear of who is batting behind him.

That's been happening for awhile now. I don't know why anyone would give Mauer something to hit, myself.  Not with the inconsistent unproven roster we have.

That was supposed to be a joke.  I will never complain about a Twins player taking a walk.  

You know there are people commenting on the trib and other places who were saying similar things and not saying it as a joke and probably complaining his hit in the first was only a single.

Milone with a 1-2-3 inning including a strike out.  Not to be Captain Obvious, but his change is pretty effective if he can manage to get ahead on the count.

You get more strikeouts when you are ahead in the count.

I know.  We're smarter than that here.  Especially in the game threads.

 

Jimmer- I should have known that you were joking as well.  I must have had a "Strib posting moment" where my brains didn't work so good.

Back to the future--Sox have Gordon Beckham at third base.  He started his career as the Sox third sacker.

Not really a prototypical 3rd baseman. Normally, you'd want some pop there.  Not necessarily buying the Sox vastly improved team.  Maybe some better, but not a contender as I see it.

One of my complaints about the city is the tourists who drive and don't know where the heck they are going. Noticing a few MN plates here today among this group. Hint ... get that vehicle parked, now, and take public transit! :)

I still can't believe people thought the White Sox would be playoff contenders this year.

 

I still think they are......

 

Playoffs or not, I'd still like to have 2.5 Aces... plus another possible college arm Ace soon on the way.
