Marcus Stroman out for season

[Squirrel]

Another team losing a starting pitcher. Stroman out for the season with a torn ACL.

[jimmer]

that's horrible!  He's fun to watch.

[Squirrel]

I heard it on the game broadcast. Apparently did it doing routine bunt drills at practice this morning.

[gunnarthor]

Bummer for them.

[Otto von Ballpark]

Credit to everyone for not suggesting trading them Nolasco or Pelfrey!

[Otto von Ballpark]

Hopefully leg injury is less disruptive long term than arm injury.

[markos]

I wonder if the Blue Jays are now looking for some rotation depth (Milone? Pelfrey?).

[markos]

Credit to everyone except me, apparently. Sorry!

Perhaps they would like to acquire Torii Hunter to help mentor whomever they replace Stroman with. (*ducking*)

[Paul Pleiss]

Bunting ruins lives. BAN THE BUNT! BAN THE BUNT! And also the wave. BAN THE BUNT AND THE WAVE!

Mr. Yost would like a word...

If only there was some way we could change the rules so pitchers never had to hit.

I think Stroman was injured while fielding bunts, though.

yes, he was.

Unless offer is overwhelming wait until last week of spring training and then make a deal to your favor if Nolasco, Plefrey and Milone have had strong springs.  Maximize your return.  This could also happen after the first few weeks of the season when other internal options fail.

[Shane Wahl]

It is time to finally say this. Nolasco is untradeable at the moment, and is likely untradeable throughout the year. No one is going to take on 3 and, what, $37 million without seeing sustained good pitching over an entire season. Next offseason? Maybe, yes.

Milone is clearly the guy to put forth as trade bait.

Edit: 37 million bucks.

Exactly why everybody wants to trade him at the moment.
