Platoon Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Who sings that? "Sure throws a mean curve ball..." Comes to mind for some reason.Well Bert I think it's Pinball Wizard? What do you think? Well dick, I don't listen to music like that!
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 since the twins arrived in 1961----there have been 4 players who have hit 50 home runs or more against themjim thome, reggie jackson, frankthomas, paul konerko trivia question:which one did not play for the white sox? (babe ruth is not an acceptable answer)That must not include post season games. I saw Adam bleeping Kennedy hit 50 just in one series.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 How about a couple runs to give Swarzak a "W"?
hawkiconk Provisional Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Yes. Who sings that, not Yes. First base! http://www.sportsposterwarehouse.com/catImages/whosonfirst-p-allu-1.jpggod forbid yesi am not a wakeman!!

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 god forbid yesi am not a wakeman!!I don't know how many got that... But I wanted to let you know.... That I got that... and don't ask me Howe.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Yes. Quit stealing my material.
snepp Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Quit stealing my material. Concur.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Quit stealing my material.Ye... ok, fine, whatever, meant 'sure'.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Not sure I've quite got the knack for this song thing, but my question is: wh, wh, wh, why Milone? Huh?
big dog Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I don't see how anyone can blame Anderson for Millone's struggles. He was on the team for about 15 minutes before he threw his first pitch. How about a month's worth of food poisoning? That might work. Hey, Swarzak's out and Burton's in! Shouldn't we be evaluating some of our new relievers in pressure situations? No, I guess we'd rather use Swarzak and Burton. OK, good plan. I know Gardy likes to let new guys watch a game before they play, but several of those guys have been up before, at least two of them earlier this year. Let's start that whole evaluation thing, please.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Garcia reminds me of Miggy. I hope he doesn't become as good a hitter as Cabrera.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Good thing they called up all those young guys to get a look at them.....I'd think your "starter" going 3.2 innings would give you room to see some of them. I'm not convinced Gardy understands the concept here....
big dog Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Garcia reminds me of Miggy. I hope he doesn't become as good a hitter as Cabrera.OK, I was going to write something funny, remembering the scandalous story about why Garcia was traded (perhaps), but I probably just shouldn't go there. Imagine it yourselves, please.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Not sure I've quite got the knack for this song thing, but my question is: wh, wh, wh, why Milone? Huh?Dude.... "Get the Knack" would you!

I'm not convinced Gardy understands the concept here....He's prolly waiting for games that don't affect pennant races.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 All right, whoever picked Chief in the pool for "who's the first person to quote lyrics from My Sharona", please come to the courtesy counter to collect your prize.

I'm not convinced Gardy understands the concept here....There are times when I swear he does this on purpose.... Just to show that no one can tell him who to play? I have always wondered about the depth of his "dog house" and temper. It does not seem possible that the only time he blow up is at umpires. But it might be the only time we see it?
WLFINN Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 ...or maybe games that don't affect draft order races...
teekz Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I'm going to go out on a limb and say that he wants to win the game. If it was a little more tilted one way or another I think we may have seen one of the new guys
big dog Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Hey look, Schafer's caught in his second rundown of the game. How many Twins have made 2 outs on the bases without attempting to steal? That's got to be a small number.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I like aggressive base running but I gotta draw the line at... blind and I can't hear my coaches either type aggressive base running.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Ah, straight from the Tom Brunansky school of baserunning..."put your head down and run till someone tags you."

big dog Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 And here comes Casey Fien. I would really like to put Oliveros in this situation, personally.
hawkiconk Provisional Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 rundown scoring: 3-4-9-5 nothing unusual about that
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 At the time, I was really surprised we got Millone for Sam Fuld. I thought Ryan had really fleeced Beane. Now...not so much. I don't want Fuld back, but maybe releasing him would have been a better idea. But he has to be better than this. He has to be. He will be.
WLFINN Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Fryer woulda scored during the rundown
