longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Nice easy 1-2-3. I'm just relieved nobody got hurt.

big dog Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Name the fun spot to get hit. Anywhere on Carlos Gomez or Manny Machado. You get fireworks, too.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I'm sad that I'm old enough to get the reference, but it's still the single best moment in TV history. I agree, and everybody was watching that day! A good friend of mine here in LA owns the infamous white Bronco that OJ took his joy ride in, and he told me today that CNN ranked that chase as the 6th greatest ever TV moment...5 behind "in the butt, Bob".
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 There's a certain exuberance in that dugout that's been missing for a long time.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Blue Jays announcers, "It's up to the Jays to figure out Kevin Corriea" I'm almost still laughing too hard to type that!
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 "We're already paying him, we might as well leave him in."Sad, but truthful

Gotta say, though, that the way most of the country was glued to that white Bronco chase ranks as one of the most bizarre TV moments.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 KC must have heard Gardy! (waiting on the immanent implosion)…
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Correia has Bautista, Encarnacion, and Lind for the 3rd time next inning. For their careers, they are batting .984 and .927 respectively against a starter on the 3rd try. 1st time against a reliever? .800 and .816. Its a 4 run lead I guess, but we know Gardy. He refuses to pull a guy throwing a shutout, no matter who's due up or how many ringing line drive outs he gives up. edit: forgot about Lind - he's batting .843 and .707, respectively.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I will go on record as saying I'm OK with Correia starting the 6th.

No question about it. Now though, car chases seem to be a weekly occurrence here in SoCal...just had another yesterday. They always interrupt TV programming, and I sat there and watched it for an hour yesterday like a moron. God, I miss the Midwest...
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I will go on record as saying I'm OK with Correia starting the 6th. Let him hang himself, I say. Either he pitches well and gets the win or he implodes and is replaced by May.
Tibs Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Santana was nearly on the wrong end of Hammer Time

Both May and Correia working on shutouts tonight...May's only through 2 innings though. An embarrassment of pitching riches.

CGSHO his way into a three year, $30 million dollar extension. Kidding aside, that's vintage Tom Kelly. When he had a guy he didn't want on the roster, and a guy in the minors he did, that guy was on the field no matter what.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I have a 4-year old neighbor. One or the other of his parents plays ball with him every single night from about March through October. Bats righty, throws lefty. Looking forward to the 2028 draft.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Lind just about took him out for good on that liner up the middle.
