Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Kubel, Escobar, Hermann has got to be the worst outfield in the history of the game. Is Gardy trying to prove a point? If I'm Correia I'm just pissed.Fuld on concussion DL, you can't make this stuff up!
Tibs Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Well that probably should have been an easy DP
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Anybody think Hermann makes it to tomorrow without being DFA'D?I think he's safe until Hicks or Fuld comes back
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 He may throw a shutout today. He looks on. (Why not go all out?) He may throw a strike. He looks on. (Or is that hubris?)
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Anybody think Hermann makes it to tomorrow without being DFA'D? Since we have a wealth of Shecky's here today, I'll be serious. I expect Herrmann to be optioned, not DFA'd. Assuming Hammer is shifted to the 60-day to make the spot for Guerrier, I think they will DFA somebody (maybe the new kid claimed from Toronto) and promote Parmelee pretty quick.
gocgo Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Really didn't need to get jobbed by the ump today.
Hawkeye12 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Correia is one of the last guys I'd expect to strike out two guys to get out of a mess, even if they didn't give him credit for the first one. He's keeping us in the game at least albeit having to throw a ton of extra pitches to get there.
gocgo Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 A strikeout would be good here. Nice call. Now I'll try. Dozier is about due for a dinger.
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Hey, the Twins' starters have been less terrible at striking out batters lately! this has been a silver lining moment
Beemo Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I'll take Escobar. And the adventure continues .... Plus I liked this tidbit: Mike Berardino @MikeBerardino 57m There is also concern about overworking Kubel, whose legs require significant stretching from Perry Castellano before each game. It seems to have been overlooked with the rest of the Twins roster turmoil, but Kubel's slugging pct over the last 23 games .265 with a .574 OPS. I think there should be more concern about Kubel than just overworking him.

John Kelsey Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Bremer seems to almost get it, Bremer for GM!
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Nunez is on his way up, by car, to try to make the game, so 3 catchers, 1 DH, 4 SS 0 outfielders on the active roster.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 They have to 60 day Willingham now right?
kdrupp09 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 They have to 60 day Willingham now right? It would seem to be almost the required move to offset Guerrier.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Bremer seems to almost get it, Bremer for GM!He has described every piece of the puzzle but stopped short of assembling it, which is entirely understandable given the nature of his employment.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Did you see Bruno cheering on Cola?
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 It would seem to be almost the required move to offset Guerrier.I would guess Fryer would be the other player to come off the 40 man, to make room for an outfielder, any outfielder
kdrupp09 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Suzuki just got HBP, we better hope he can stay in, otherwise look for a pitcher in the outfield with this lineup.
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 any word on Nuñez ? Did he get pulled over for speeding? "Officer, I have to get to the stadium, we've only got 2 active outfielders!""That looks like a infielder's glove to me, son. Step out of the car please."
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Bremer called the letter high FB strike out on Pinto
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 there's a fighting chance Kenny Wilson gets called up. Kenny Wilson? He's my Adopt-a-Prospect and I'm obliged to speak up for him, but he's OPSing .595 at AA, with lots of strikeouts. and would get chewed up by major league pitching on a Butera/Florimon scale, and could contribute defensively.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Can they at least get Zukesie some pants that don't touch the ground? They're bordering on footie PJ territory. Is he shrinking due to overuse?
kdrupp09 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Anyone notice, Correia's ERA is below 6 now.
cmathewson Provisional Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Chris Hermann with a ground ball to the right side, for the 400th time in this young season.
adjacent Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I would guess Fryer would be the other player to come off the 40 man, to make room for an outfielder, any outfielderThe other candidate would be Brooks Raley. The chances of him making it to Minnesota are rather slim, or should be slim. Although, with this management of the roster, you never know..

I mean, who's better on the bench: a player who's maybe marginally better defensively than the other solution at SS (Florimon over Escobar) or a player who has over 400+ more professional games CF than the incumbant (Wilson over Escobar). If we're going to roster some subzero OPS+ players...Wilson is honestly a better fit currently than Florimon (or even Herrmann).
