    Except, they're not the Indians any more. And, they don't have a name yet because they didn't really plan this out. MLB encouraged the name change and the Indians went forward with it. 2 groups without a plan. What do you call that place between 2 boobs? The Cleavage. Good name for the team in Cleveland.

    I think Polanco and Arraez make a fine keystone duo. As long as Polanco's ankles are up to it, we can win and win big with these guys. Maybe not the greatest defense, but I'll take a good hitter who can hold his own at a position over a good glove-poor hit starter.

    It's been 6 months since Kluber was diagnosed with a grade 2 tear of the teres major muscle in his right shoulder. I'm pretty sure he has had ample time to rest and rehab the injury and believe he'll be able to ramp up for a normal spring training and full season. Broken arm, oblique strain, shoulder muscle tear; it's been a rough time for him but at age 35 and with his ability to pitch and velocity returning, I think he could be a significant contributor to our rotation. We took a flyer on Rich Hill last year. I think Kluber could provide more value.

    The Pale Hose are spending a lot of money for 1 inning a game, 65-85 innings a season.

    Alex Wood definitely brings value if healthy but seems to be taking the Rich Hill career path. Villar is interesting. Doesn't really have a middle infielder's body at 6-0, 233lb. but has a nice combo of switch hitting, power, speed and versatility. Sure would make a decent super utility guy. Don't know what kind of clubhouse guy he is. If Tyler Chatwood could find some consistency and control he could be a terror on the mound. That 1.51 whip ain't gonna cut it though. Foltynewicz could win the comeback player of the year for somebody, or his arm could fall off, anybody's guess. Nice list Tom.

    Twins released Romero and is rumored that he will sign with the Yokohama BayStars in Japan. Twins to get approx. $300k.

    It doesn't seem fair to a team if a player is long-term injured yet accrues the time required to be available to be drafted away by another team. But I guess it affects all teams equally as the Twins did have the opportunity to protect players from being exposed to the Rule 5 Draft. It must be kind of weird for the player too if he is still in rehab or recovery as he changes teams and team coaching/medical staffs.

    Doesn't lessen the wonderment of his acquisition vs the pitchers we lost.

    Josh Mitchell: Lefty, he'll be 26 and not pitched above A+. Minor League ERA of 5.65 and 1.53 WHIP. He must have magic stashed away in his arm they hope to tap into.

    Jhonleider Salinas: His career minor league stat line looks like a Nolan Ryan season. 19-10 WL, 3.10 ERA, 288-211-171-290 (IP-H-W-K) with 23 HBP.

    Thats right, the Florida Miracle have bee rebranded as the Mighty Mussels, including a new logo that, frankly, if someone asked me, "what is that?" I'd be at a loss for words.

    A remote MLB Winter Meeting . . . that sounds like fun. I guess we'll have to play some remote golf then. Sure will save on the bar tab though.

    Just the fact that we still have Smeltz and Raley helped us get Maeda makes this a good trade for the Twins. I'm not sure either Dozier or Forsythe have much value left. Of course if Raley provides quality MLB at bats for a few years, it could tip the balance.
