  1. "I’m not a fast runner. I’m a catcher." Classic.
  2. Jordan Gore making the transition to pitcher look like a great move.
  3. Toast. Everyone is toast. Dr. Evil returned to 2021 from the future and sucked the mojo out of the Twins, there is no hope.
  4. Yes, how different would this team look? I thought Minky was going to be the next Twins manager until, well, you know. Love me some Jim Kaat in the booth though. Still one of my favorite people and baseball man with a mic.
  5. Now if we could just do it.
  6. I think the most common out come for the Twins this year with runners in scoring position and one out = the strikeout. No runners get moved and now there are two outs. Rally killers.
  7. Yeah, I think we should just sign guys who are going to play well. ?
  8. Falvey and Levine get a temporary pass due to the shutdown; makes it really hard to evaluate players when they aren't playing. Rocco . . . not so much.
  9. Killebrew (62-64), then Jacque Jones (2000-03), then Bob Allison (65-69). Honorable mention to Danny Gladden and Eddie Rosario. I liked the outfield of Bob Allison (lf), Jimmie Hall (cf) and Tony Oliva (rf).
  10. I thought Beau Burroughs (Kevin Costner) was the guy who bonked all the family Huttinger women who the Mrs. Robinson song was supposedly based on. ? (Ya ya, different spelling, I know.)
  11. So is Gordon getting reps at SS out of the question these days?
  12. Twins also signed Kyle Barraclough who could be a bullpen piece. He's a bit wild but does limit hard contact.
  13. Whew. I was thinking that at that size, he could turn sideways and disappear.
  14. Do you know, is he really 6-0 145 as listed at BBref? That's thinner than Nick "nightlite" Gordon.
  15. He likes being with the Twins. ?
  16. Looks like Jordan Gore moving to the bump as his place of business has been a good move. Possible future Twins reliever?
  17. It would be interesting to know what Tampa would trade Buxton for if they had him. Those guys really know how to assess player value both in terms of production and cost and build a competitive team. It's really impressive and I don't think you can really copy it effectively. Some of their trades seem misguided at first but then you see the results in the W/L column and you realize they've done it again. I hate em.
  18. The guy I wanted the Twins to sign was 28 year old former 1st round pick Taijuan Walker who signed a 2 year + option contract for $20 mil with the Mets. At 6-4, 235 lbs and fully recovered fro TJ surgery, could have been a solid rotation addition. He's pitched better than expectations so the Mets are happy.
  19. I'm not sure "Game Recap" is really appropriate for nights like this. "Massacre Recap" might better fit the occasion with maybe an FCC type rating to protect the more innocent of fans. ?
  20. Any self-respecting team does NOT trade Byron Buxton. He is worth more as a part time player than most full time players, and all players on this year's Twins. I'm sorry if you don't see it, but he is the straw that stirs the drink. When he is in the lineup he impacts a team more than any player in baseball outside of the juniors (Guerrero and Tatis), Trout, Acuna and Soto. Sign him to a contract and have a plan for when he is unable to play. I should add Betts in there.
