  1. Kepler's K in the 10th . . . arggghhh.
  2. Nelson Cruz: Great pitch recognition plus the ability to put the bat on the ball with authority makes Nellie one of the most feared hitters in baseball . . . still.
  3. The Berrios/Burnes matchup on Saturday night might have been the pitching duel of the year. Haven't seen 2 starters go toe-to-toe with no-hitters through 6 like that in a long time (there probably are a few but I haven't seen them). It made watching every pitch really fun. Great game.
  4. the Duke of Albuquerque will once again slay the mighty fire-breathing mound dragons.
  5. Max Kepler you sandbagger you. Got us all freaked out in spring training then matches ST output in the 1st game. Now let's get back to catching the ball, shall we?
  6. Garlick set the Cal Poly Pomona single-season homerun record with 17 jacks in 2015, was drafted by the Dodgers, then batted .349 across 2 Single-A leagues that same year. In 2016 he was named to the California League Mid-Season All-Star team before being promoted to AA. In 2017 he was named to the Texas League Mid-Season All-Star Team but then injured his hand. Garlick debuted with the Dodgers in May, 2019. At age 29 he's not really a prospect anymore, but Kyle Garlick is not just LF meat. If he can do some mashing on left-handed pitching and keep his defensive routes and throws on track he should be able to help the Twins.
  7. unfortunately, a foreign substance on the ball for Max Kepler would be the bat.
  8. We used to go to Metropolitan stadium when the Angels were in town just to get behind home plate when Nolan Ryan was pumping fastballs. The sound of the ball hitting the catcher's mitt was like no other pitcher. The ball would go "zip", "pop", and dust would fly out of the catcher's mitt. Awesome.
  9. Boom Stick has to be the most appropriate nickname . . . evah.
  10. I guess the ramp up to offensive juggernaut has a long lead time ... ahem.
  11. Thats called a salad, mate.
  12. Thanks Tom, nice job as always. Thorpe looking very determined. Canterino looking nasty. Broxton making a statement.
  13. I'd pick Hamilton over Anderson for possible bullpen role. Consideration: If Anderson learns to command his stuff better, he could be a beast.
  14. . . . "today focused on fans being back at the ballpark" . . . Fans? So, it was really hot and they had to blow the air around with fans? I don't get it.
  15. its like an echo chamber in here.
  16. i think its "Yo-WAHN Doo-RAHN".
  17. Sometimes you never know how it's all going to work out until you play the games. It's a good thing that we can even look forward to a championship season rather than mediocrity. I'm a Blackhawks fan and thought this season would be awful with the injuries to Nylander and Dach and the missing of Crawford and Toews but the kids are playing like their hair is on fire and the whole team has responded with inspiring hockey. I don't know if they'll win anything but it sure is fun to watch. I'm kind of hoping this for the Twins and they play inspiring baseball. 0-18 in the post season is an embarrassment and this year would be a good time to crush that.
  18. If Arraez is going to play a lot of OF, I hope they work on his stride as he persues the baseball. Can't be taking those little baby steps trying to get to the ball. Cue up the Devon White video.
